make them, much cheaper. theres loads of cedeline in that area which accounts for most of the swallow potion.

if you have Vista and a X-FI/creative, add it to alchemy. the load times for some reason shorten to about 5/6 seconds.

Game Title: The Witcher
Select Use Registry patch.
Enter the follwoing: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CD Projekt Red\The Witcher\InstallFolder
Select install into Sub Folder.
Enter the following: System

As for the settings section, this is what worked for me.
Buffers: 6 (was originally set to 4, raised it to 6 to stop audio distortion, if distortion still occurs, try altering this value)
Duration 5: (If the game plays the first second of audio then plays the full length of the same sound, try altering this value, anything above 5 caused this for me)
Maximum Voice Count: 128

Just kill his friends on group mode, then drink a pot run around till u got more health then hit the beast. If you drop to low run around him in circles till u've regened some:)
 
think it took me maybe 4 attempts to kill him. Group attack for his buddies and when its just the beast its much easier. Watch you dont run into the fire dude - coz it hurts! :(
 
the beast fight nearly made me turn off the game. I think it took me about 10 or 12 attempts. I took to running around in circles.

Really really really ticked me off though - was really hard boss fight and I think it was a little un fair as you had the problem of the game loading you straight into the fight so you start getting hit immediately before you have even got your sword out and then Geralt being hit by loads of times and your clicks not coming off.

Took a lot to control that fight.
 
man you guy's are going to hate the thing in the middle of the swamps. i was fighting with it for 2 durations of a swallow potion. dont know why but i thought The Beast was a easy kill though. are you all playing on Hard? im a medium boy :)

ive died so many times in that area im sure im killing myself.
 
grrrr damn i'm really enjoying this game, but i seem to have hit a brick wall.
can anyone shed any light on my situation?

basicly i'm trying to find mikul and i assume the only thing stopping me progressing is the fact that i havnt completed the ghoul quest.
the ghoul contract, i had killed a few ghouls before i had the bestiary entry which meant i could not collect the blood, i managed to find one ghoul after getting the ghoul entry, so i now have 1 ghouls blood but i cant for the life of me find any ghouls, which pretty much means i cant finish the quest, i've spent hours running around, i've tryed popping in and out of the abandoned huts to the north of the outskirts where i found the one, but still nothing just those bleedin bargests... i'm getting a little frustrated, is there a trick to finding these things or am i gonna have to start again? if thats the case the game gets thrown on the pile to gather dust, i'm not away to start again and have to sit and click through all that dialouge.

youve gone into the crypt right?, if memory serves me right the mikul's ghouls are all in the crypt in the north east. it should be on your map, go in and kill the ones there then venture further and it should be finished. investigating the body at the entrance
 
This might be a long shot but does anyone know which ogg file the rock/orchestrial music is?
It quite a heavy peiceof rock music.

I got it when i first had the fight outside the mages tower, i tried to go back and listen to it via a save but it doesnt play the same tune.

NM. Found it its mus_bat_boss1 in the music folder.

have you done the other quest apart from mikul and the ghoul one? have you tried at night and during the day? i personally did the crypt one last. other than that i could simply tell you where mikul is. but it wont help as you need all 3 to move forward in the story.
 
If u are searching for mikul then i would suggest going to quest find the 1 to find mikul and click on track on map or i could just tell u were he is

Cant get into the crypt till u have spoken with mikul whos at the gate to vizima, the 1 on same road as the crypt
 
I finally gave in and purchased the game over the weekend, and patched it up and all. However, I haven't really got that far yet, only just spoken to the Reverend, but I am constantly getting crashes at every other save, does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

I am pretty sure the spec on my machine is more than capable of running the game, I have even gone as far as lowering some of the graphic settings just in case, yet I still get the random crashes. Luckily the game manages to save before the crash, so I can continue playing from where it saved, so I haven't lost any progress, but it is damn annoying.

Are you running Vista? If so you need to install the Microsoft Vista update to fix the memory addressing issues

If you click on the "Update" link on the splash screen (shown when you put the disc into the drive) it takes you to the official site with a link to the Microsoft update. I'd link to it but I'm at work and a quick google takes you to the flash based site! :)

I'm on Vista x64 and after installing this patch it's running fine

Thanks, will try that tonight, and see if it solves the problem.
 
I,m running on XP and its been rock solid. The only error I have is when I actually quite to windows it comes up with message that the program isnt responding. Not sure why but as im quitting to windows it doesnt affect the gameplay.
