The Witcher series (Netflix)

Spartacus was crazy over the top in nudity. The slow-mo scans of the crowd just casually waving their **** around. I loved that show at the time but I've never rewatched it and I think it would feel really strange watching it now. Like watching some of the casual racism in mid 90's shows.
Spartacus was hilarious. The lines from this show will forever be used by me and my mates...

ONCE AGAIN THE GODS SPREAD CH.....

Where did I say something was wrong with nudity? Do people have reading comprehension issues?

TBF, if lots of people are misreading your posts as you suggest, then could the problem actually be the clarity your posts rather than it being just everyone else having issues? :)

As an aside from Shamikebab - this idea reminds of the "everyone's an idiot" metaphor, where if everyone you meet turns out to be an idiot, is it really everyone else or is it actually you?

Too small a sample to say that. It's pretty clear in my post I'm not asking for a ban of nudity.

It is obvious what @Shamikebab meant, which is that the abundant nudity is very dated and might make him feel very awkward if he watched it now, much like some racist humour that used to be socially acceptable might make him feel awkward if he watched it now.

Nudity just to get the audience figures up is trash. If its thematic and warranted that's different.

I don't think there was any confusion in what was said. It was clear to me excess nudity was what was being objected to. Not nudity full stop

Yes, it did end as a damp squib, though purely due to poor writing/decisions imo, not some made-up woke anti-men fantasy.

What I find quite amusing is that you have people saying it was dumbed down and crap, and just as many people saying it was confusing. :D

I was able to follow due to having played the games, my wife had no idea what was going on, and just wanted to see bad guys/monsters getting whooped.

Oh well, I'll still say Cavill was bloody perfect as Geralt.

Haven't posted on here as didn't want to spoil it however I just finished S3 Ep4 last night and don't care anymore. I really enjoyed first series and I think I liked 2 but just can't get into this. Not really sure what's going on or who is trying to kill who and why as it's been far too long since S2. The blatantly obvious scene with the bard and the kings brother eventually happened though, wow didn't see that coming . Likely won't finish it which feels a bit of a shame.

You won't miss anything tbh.

Watched the "Making of S3" and the showrunner is clueless/clearly has her own agenda.

I said really over the top nudity like pornography is not needed in a show. This doesn't mean I hate nudity or am trying to ban nudity. Stop strawmanning.

I don't think Spartacus was over the top. It just showed naked people having sex, likely exactly how it was (or actually, perhaps pretty tame compared to what actually went on in ancient Rome..). Big woop.

Everything was over the top in it.

I have never understood why western society gets so shocked at nudity and sex, but revels in over the top violence and gore.

I think it says something deeply unsettling about our culture.

i sort of agree and blame it on how we were brought up. there was a period in 70s when it looked like sex/nudity was going to be acceptable in mainstream cinema/tv but then the likes of Mary Whitehouse came along and locked everything down again. Its a similar thing in the states though and sadly we must tend to follow them on everything, albeit several year behind.

Horrible violence goes through in a blink of an eye but as soon as there is a full frontal naked woman then it becomes 18.

Never mind over the top for the sake of it nudity but has anyone mentioned how much they swear in this show? I found it really odd, dropping F bombs when they really were not warranted. I've worked in construction all my life and my language is atrocious but it just felt weird Ceri squeezing out the odd donald duck here and there for no apparent reason. :D

It was.

I hate self indulgent ***** episodes like this. Reminded me of the episode in The Last of Us in the mall

We don't need a whole/most of an episode for that sort of rubbish. One scene would suffice.

Yep, that episode could have been done in 15 mins, what a waste, symptomatic of TLOU IMO, very uneven.
