*** The World Athletics Championships 2015 Thread ***

I thought Bolt would possibly lose this 200m but that the 100m was the more important one to have won in terms of the symbolism of the distance. However it wasn't even close and to pull out a world leading mark despite the lack of preparation shows what a truly great athlete he is.

Slightly disappointed for Sophie Hitchon that she ended up in fourth when she was actually quite close to getting a bronze but as she said she managed to PB twice and break the national record in doing it so that's a pretty good outcome.

Disappointing how Ohuruogu ran her race yesterday. She got roped in by Felix's race and spoilt her own race. She was completely spent by the end of it. Sad way to see the reigning champion fall.

Yeah, not just her though :D

Richard Kilty seems like a complete ****. Support your team mates rather than point the finger and give them ****.

It must be deeply frustrating when through no fault of your own the medal is lost in a team event. It did look as if he was going a bit over the top remonstrating with James Ellington in particular though.

I've not seen any analysis but from a first watch and a replay it looked like CJ Ujah set off way before he should have and also wasn't looking for the baton quickly enough. If that is the case then Harry AA will be even more upset about being left out of the team for the final. However that might be a snap judgement and not be supported by further viewings.

Delighted for Mo Farah though and the 4x100m girls did very well also to set a new national record - did anyone else think "fourth place, let's see if they move up when the next drugs cheat gets outed..."?

//edit - watching the highlights just now, it appears that it wasn't CJ Ujah going off too early or too fast, it seemed that James Ellington was slowing down way too rapidly and not alerting CJ Ujah quickly enough that he was in trouble.
