Does anyone remember a time when prime time television was full of quality homegrown drama and comedy and not yet more of these cheap to make impress the masses reality TV shows?

I used to watch quite a lot of TV, now it's just this sort of stuff all the time. Am I being nostalgic or has TV really descended into dumbed down programming like this? I guess it chases the ratings.

I like x factor but only through the first auditions so i can laugh at the stupid people.

As for TV, I can't remember the last time I dedicated my time to watch something purposefully on TV as well, I just download what I want to watch these days.

TV is awful due to its programs and adverts... Hate it

alternatively, join the real world and avoid watching carp "talent" shows

I am impartial and don't watch any of these, so the guy may be the best for the job, or the nicest guy, but I'm just sick or having x-factor's got dancing talent on ice shoved down my throat even if I avoid watching tv alltogether

Well I started watching this last week it's Hilarious.
Just fits in as throw away viewing before I set off to work & gives me summit to laugh at.

First Doris was pants if you ask me & pretty rare to see a Black girl who struggles to dance.
Second lot are Mingers Big old Thunder thighs wobbling about the stage.
Never realised this was so funny or I would have watched it before.

I had just made the same comments as the girlie judges - if you want people to forget your stripper past, don't come out dressed as strippers! Should have shown a bit of class and not a lot of ass
