She could. But the singer who she is being accused of being (allegedly) racist against, is black. Her racism towards Asians or any other race is not under examination, nor can it be argued (for or against).

The whole racism thing is such a daily mail argument. She attacked a woman once who was black which somehow means you are racist (utter joke btw) even though the racial intent charge was dropped. She put a black girl through, is great friends with Will.I.Am and was married to ashley cole - Hardly a great case for being racist against Gamu....

More likely causes are the producers chose who to put through based on tabloid space and ratings or Ms Cole is just rubbish at picking talent.
 
Wow I really didn't think my comment would derail the thread so much.

FTR, I do not think Cheryl is racist, but Gamu (IMO) was a good singer, and I am surprised she didn't get through.

Everyone is which is why theres so many different reasons people are coming out with. It will be something simple and rubbish though, like cheryl is just simple and rubbish.
 
All these racist allegations are completly unjustified and unfounded, it makes me quite mad.

I also dont agree that cheryl neccaserily made a bad decision putting cher and katie through over gammu and trayc. Good voice doesn't always = ability to sell records. Look at steve brookstein and leon jackson etc, they have good voices , where are they now? exactly.

Maybe she felt that the 2 she put through had more potential/ more of a "whole package" etc which = more ability to sell records

She may not have even had much input into the decision. it may all be down to simon and the producers who did it for the reasons i have just said plus press attention, controversy ratings, etc (it would make great telly if katie forgot her lines!) and wow it worked!
 
Oh well it looks like the Judges are getting a wild card and can choose another person

So no doubt Gamu will come back and win :P

Or it could be that the XFACTOR program makers want to create a sensation, by bringing her back at a later point.

Remember, sensation is what creates headlines in newspapers and is what increases TV viewing figures. If XFACTOR put through the singers that the audience expected from day1, there will be no unpredictability.

I remember in the first series of Pop Idol (I think it was) - the best singer was an incredibly obese man, who couldn't be marketed at any level. The audience knew this, Cowell knew this, everybody knew this. So, if he won the talent show, Cowell and his music company would have a problem on their hands. To solve this they basically fired Rick Waller from the show as they knew that the audience would never vote him out.

As i said cheryl probably had little to do with the decision. it was probably even decided before judges houses. the producers didn't count on them stuffing up there lines or being ill which unfortunately made cheryl look bad when she told them they were through.

Personally, I didnt think she was that great, but judging by opinion on this forum, she was very popular, so she may well be able to sell a good amount of records.
 
I thought it was discovered that Katie has a recording contract in the States... isn't that against the rules?

I think Cher deserves to be in the final 3, she is original in her approach to the covers of the tracks she is given/chooses.. her first and second auditions were impressive and the only reason she didn't get to "shine" infront of Cheryl was down to a throat infection.

I'm shocked Gamu wasn't picked either tbh.. I thought it would be Cher, Gamu and the scouse lass..

Katie does nothing for me..

Completely agree, I hate facebook for things like that, I bet the same people are members of anti immigration groups as well.

It's all about the drama isn't it, if you can create hype then you go through.

Apart from the girls drama, I thought it was quite predictable that Simon put the new groups he created through, obviously if he created them they must be good :rolleyes:

Does make you wonder why you'd bother applying as a group, isn't this the 2nd year in a row where they've had the fantastic idea to create two new groups out of rejected soloists then put them both through to the finals?

Simon so wants a group to win. The new boy group will make it all the way to the final along with Matt and Aiden imo.
