Hey all, about to join the club. I will be ordering 2 of the Fractal Design 40mm fans with the order due to what peeps have been saying about the noisy cooling fans... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-004-FD&groupid=701&catid=2331&subcat=818

have a few questions for ya!

I will also be fitting my Noctua NH-U12P SE Dual Fan to this board. What memory do you suggest guys. I want to O/C to around 4.6GHz?

I have a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi card like this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-085-CL&groupid=701&catid=11&subcat= (model before) and want to know if this will fit between 2 x EVGA GTX 680 FTW cards in SLi?

No one came back but dont matter re the memory, ordered some of this memory (16gb) Samsung Green (MV-3V4G3D/US) 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz 30nm Dual Channel Kit.

I have joined this club but I can not get any internet connection, I have changed cables and tried re-installing again and again but still a red X on the connection icon?

Any help please

It is enabled by default as far as I'm aware, my guess is it was either changed by the retailer or a flash was performed on it at some stage and defaults were not loaded afterwards.

Still need the question re the soundcard and space between the GPU's answered pls if anyone knows? :)
 
Those Fractal Design fans don't fit the motherboard - I ordered one of them to replace the fan in the centre of the board and it wasn't the correct size. I don't know if they can be adapted to fit in some way?

As long as that soundcard isn't wider than a single slot you should be OK. Heat might be an issue though. I'm running 2 EVGA GTX 670 FTW cards in SLI and I'm thinking of moving to water cooling as the GPUs are getting quite toasty!

The Samsung RAM works great on this board, you should be able to push it to 2133MHz with minimal effort. You can get it to 2400 with some tinkering but it's not really worth it.

The Fractal fans DONT FIT... well, im pleased you mentioned that! ;) :) I will take them from the order if thats the case. CAN ANYONE ELSE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS?

I hope the temps are not high on the cards. My case has got good cooling. I may have to end up using onboard sound if heat becomes an issue... :(

Re the ram, yeh im hearing.. well reading very good things about it!
 
Just had a quick flick through the manual for the mobo and you can fit a 40mm fan to the rear accessory point, but the centre motherboard fan is 35mm and it sits in a groove. On my board the rear fan is fine, it's silent, however the centre fan is noisy. I might swap them around and fit the 40mm fan that I have to the rear.

My temps were fine when running a single 670, but when I added a second my temps really increased, and my rig is pretty loud now under load. My case has decent cooling (Fractal Design Define R3 with 6 fans!) but still the fans on the cards are having to work hard.
 
Hmm ok thanks for that GnollinZ, I will need to watch myself with the cards/heat.

I may just see how the fans sound then when I put the system together.... maybe the centre one will be fine? We will see.
 
In Ai Overclock Tuner my XMP is missing. Am I correct to assume that the option is not available as I have the Samsung Green memory? Otherwise I'll need to RMA the board, as I'm using the latest 1504 bios but can't use someone's overclocking settings as I can't select XMP. :(
 
That is correct yes, no XMP on the Samsung Green memory. Just manually configure the settings and run Memtest86+ to confirm it is stable. There are a few threads around with plenty of great info on clocking them.
 
I recently bought this board from the B grade section but it hasn't come with an io plate or any accessories, thinking of returning it and buying it brand new as its only £40 more :/

I would just write to Asus. Tell them the IO plate is missing and can they send you one.
Apart from the IO plate, data cables, sli bridge, what else is missing.
