I guess I may as well post up my small car history.
I bought my first car for £400 a full 6 months before I had my license, and I never drove it, couldn't afford to then get it T&Ted, so it sat out the back of the house getting worse and worse. Finally I passed and had the money to sort it out in Sept '04, and after about a month of it being fiddled with it was working and on the road.
This was my Renault 5 Campus, a whopping 1.1L of French power in a half sized tincan, which was a large amount considering what most of my friends had.
I drove it hard for about 6 months and then drove it too hard and wrote it off.
I only have post-crash photos of it, and they don't show off the glory of what I did due to the recovery truck pulling it back to shape a bit.
Basically I went too fast round a corner, lost it, tried to correct, overcompensated and took it up a hedge and made it flick back onto it's roof, landing on my side, smacking my head against the 'liner' (cardboard basically) and the rather hard road. Only suffered a large bruise, anyhooo, when it was put on the back of the lorry they put a rope through the front windows and that pulled the roof back out to shape...by about a foot!

I was shaken, but wanted to get back into the driver's seat as soon as after that, so two weeks and £700 later I bought this...
A Peugeot 306 XLd with 186k which wasn't that bad to insure for an 18 year old which surprised me. I loved the car, it had space in it, could maintain 70mph on almost all roads (not quite all, no turbo made it slow).
It was really chuckable once I'd done this to it...
(Put 205 1.9 GTi alloys on it)
I kept that for a year and a half, and put it up to 206k. at or around the 200k mark I was constantly pushing the engine far too much and when I pulled into work one day I noticed someone's car was leaking coolant, I then realised it was
my car leaking coolant.
Once towed home I checked it out, and I'd warped the head and probably blown the HG (not that it mattered).
So I (yes me personally) did this...
Ripped the engine out and put in one with 117k on the clock. The car is now still going strong, but my brother has it, as I
thought that it would cost too much to keep/run, and so swapped it for a Peugeot 205 XR with 1360ccs of French power! I now realise that in fact the D306 was a much better car to have whilst at uni for my 2nd year, anyway, pic...

And that's where I currently am, although I am looking for my next toy.
