There is wedding photography and there is WEDDING photography.....

Wow that video is stunning.

What would be the Nikon equivalent to the 5D MKIIs?

You have 2 choices: D700 for exceptional low light work, which would eb perfect for a wedding. Or A D3x to have even higher resolution. Both of these cameras have far better functionality, features and ergonomics than the Canon.

Take your pick.

D700s or x will have HD video

Nice weddings Pics showing what a professional team can do. Liked the video but I wouldn't bother with one for my wedding.

Hopefully Nikon will follow Canon in the future. Otherwise i might make the switch to Canon if i ever decide to upgrade my D80.

Ive always thought the video mode was a gimmick until i saw that video .

Nikon are adding video to all their cameras including the D300s now with autofocus working (contrast based) while recording video.

The difference between 720 and 1080 is pretty small unless you have a 50" TV!

All the gallery images have exif which is really interesting. His handling of DOF is just spot on. Shooting something 6 feet away with a 50mm open at f1.6 takes a certain degree of confidence (unless he took a banker at f4) - the result is a great background to an otherwise "ordinary" shot.

Top find.... really inspiring.

absolutely amazing, don't know who anyone was in the film but still couldn't stop watching!

i know everyone is applauding the camera, and it is a real gem, but that is some very professional videographers there, truly awe inspiring!

Wish they would have done my wedding, loads better to watch 5 minutes of pure class than 2 hours of okay-ish video...

I'm lost for words. Not only did they capture everything beautiful about the wedding but they executed it perfectly. I'm sure the B&G are over the moon with the end result.

Makes me want to produce something like that.

It is a lovely video but I agree on the point about the expensive glass doing a lot of the work. It certainly gives it the edge. I'm struggling to get that excited by it. It's an expensive camera, with a lot of expensive glass.. you'd expect something half decent :p

A guy at work showed me this video at a company he used to work for. It looks like everyone is giving this a go (and why not!):

The video is excellent, and all wedding vids should be something like that I think!

The photographs, whilst very very good, do not blow me away and appear rather 'formulaic'. There is a trend towards 'high key' style wedding photography I think, probably due to it lending wedding photos a dream like quality. I'm not a big fan of it though, but can appreciate the skills involved, and can see why somebody who is a fan of it would be blown away.

I hope all photographers don't go down this route though(and nor should clients who don't like it let them!), otherwise we may as well all sign up for a Klick Photography franchise or something! :D

Jeesh that is lovely silky smooth DOF in those shots. I'm gob smacked at the ISO 1600 with no noise and the 3200 B&W dancing shots have a fantastic feel. Exotic glass or not f/2.8 & f/4 are hardly out of anyones price range these days.

I can really see the short comings of my 400D now :p That HD shot walking out to the city skyline is stuning indeed.

Having a team of photographers in the room would put most people off i'd think though. That’s the problem with weddings and why I’ll most likely never shoot one, because guests are assumed to relinquish any personal freedom for the all encompassing whims of the Bride & Groom.
