There is wedding photography and there is WEDDING photography.....

Lovely work (but so is Raymond's)

I get married on Saturday coming and the photographer is under instructions not to be intrusive, not that I think she would be anyway. My uncle is a professional cameraman who now does wedding videos - we politely (and repeatedly) asked him not to do one for us, we simply don't want it. I'll have a mate there with my Panasonic FZ38 and if he feels like it he can take some HD video, but it won't be the same as having two cameramen moving around the room or ushering people out of the way constantly to keep shot.

Anyway rambling and off topic, nerves!! :D:D

Stunning to say the least but guys, its not just the camera. Though I agree its a master piece of kit you wouldn't say to a world class chef - 'WOW! awesome Saucepans!' or You must have an amazing oven!...

The video and the images are probs some of the best I have seen :)

I think you'll regret not having a video. I was dead set against it when I got married in May but the other half insisted, turns out I was wrong and I prefer the video to the photos, it shows so much more of the day and the people.

And any pro videographer worth his salt wouldn't usher anyone.

Photographers usher people in to set shots, videographers are like ghosts moving around the crowds. So many people mentioned to me how they would be chatting away and just spot him filming them :)

So are most now getting a videographer instead of a photographer or both? Wouldn't you then be looking at 3-5k for both?

Pretty much, from what I've seen at least. A lot of weddings we film the photographer drops off after the ceremony/family photos and then we stay on for the speeches and first dance.

When I got married, we had a pro photographer, and a few people did 'video'.

The video's were actually quite good, a guest took everybody's footage and made something of it.

The problem is, once we'd watched it once or twice, that was it. It's been in the cupboard ever since. It's also on VHS tape (LOL!), and I don't even have a player anymore.

Having said that, I can't remember the last time I looked at the wedding album either!

Sadly, both photographs and videos seem to be things that cost a lot of money and then don't get used very much, a bit like the wedding dress! :)

How did I miss this thread originally? That is seriously awesome photography and video.

Dare I ask how much photography and video to that standard would cost for a wedding?

I won't think you would get any change out of £5k for photographs and video. I'd budget for £10k if you want both.

I have to say the video's from both the 5D and the 7D are nothing short of stunning. I personally would like a 1 series camera as it suits the styles of photography id like to do, however I have small hands and a 40D fits them just right, which is disappointing.

Having seen the video's, Im still a believer of having a camera for photos and a camcorder for video.

:(

*Makes note not to get married for a very long time*

If you want a normal wedding video, just set a side 1k.

10K is pure madness to be spending on photos and a video.

If you look at them 10 times in your life you would be lucky.

10k could be better spent on a house.
