there's a cat in my house what do i do!

I still don't understand why it has become acceptable to let a cat roam outside unsupervised, no other pet is given this privilege. Why should I put up with some else's cat crapping in my garden?

These might answer your question :)

In 'merica there is no such law as cats are seen to damage the environment by killing rodents and birds, which is why all cats in the states are house cats. If any cats are seen outside then they will be picked up by the animal catcher and impounded until someone comes to collect them or they are re-homed or put down :(

So basically a loop hole in the law allows them to do it. I must admit that I don't get too many round house after I started getting the hose out.

Yeah pretty much. TBH I don't know of the last reported attack by a cat towards a human which wasn't unprovoked. Treat them like you would any other animal - like a fox - and there is no problem. That includes humane deterrents - ie spraying them with water etc

I could turn one of my 2 into a house cat, cause he tends to want to be inside more than out, but I haven't got a chance with the other one as she was a stray initially so she spends a good 70-80% of her time outside the house anyway

It's a bengal cat. These are pedigree cats and not a regular moggy. Someone would have paid a few hundred quid for them and would be really worried. OP please run off a few large letter CAT FOUND pages and stick them up on the street a few streets in each direction of your house. The owners would be very thankful for you to find their cat. I know I would.

It hasn't become, it's always been that way, and you should put up with it for the same reason as birds, it may be your garden but wild animals are free to roam it.

Cats have special privileges to roam granted to them by law. They aren't considered truly domesticated, such as dogs.

It's not that it's "become" acceptable - it's just always been the case. Cats can roam, dogs can't.
