Every game I buy I seem to drop play after 2 hours. They're fun at first then I just can't be bothered. I think it's just me getting bored of games but there isn't any good games anymore. Resident Evil 5, good game but I just caaaan't beeee boooothered.

There are plenty of amazing games. The thing is, you've got to give them a chance to 'get you'. Give a game at least 5 hours before you write it off.

I'm finding most of the new games really dissapointing. Either they end up being a shoddy port, full of bugs or just a plain cop out. Seems like devs are becomming more and more lazy with regard to a games quality as they strive to get sales to out do each other. The actual end product seems to take a backseat to whos got the best marketing ect ect.

Meh

Yep, its all about money, not like the old days 1999 and before.

Only really decent games i play these days are sf4, worms, dragons age is ok so far but really not my type of game. Grid was ok. Gta 4 is ok ish but would have prefered a true sequel to sa i.e more area, more missions new story thats all they should have done to guarantee me buying it.

Would be playing x3 TC like mad if i wasnt fed up of the same gameplay from the original x btf from 1999.

There are many great games, the problem is in you! I oughta know it, I am going through the same thing.I really try to get through Dead Space atm, but...5th chapter and I gotta force myself to start it.And it is a great game! But for some reason..I am never in a mood for it.Always getting distracted.I blame the internet.

Seeing as i'm currently playing Uncharted 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Dragon Age Origins, all good (or excellent in one case) games, i will have to disagree with you. I've barely got enough time to play them all, i'm yet to give Mirrors Edge and Blue Dragon a proper chance.

5 hours? Thats what most games are these days. lol.

If a game doesn't "grab me" withing the first hour or so, I turn it off.

Theres plenty of good games these days. More than enough to keep you busy.. maybe you're just growing out of games?

Remember we're now (or have been for the past few years) in an era where games production costs financially are massive. Thanks to ever increasing cpu and gpu development, gamers want ever better graphics (sad tarts) so game studios have to shell out on both equipment and ever increasing timelines.

This was first evident with HL2 taking half a sodding decade. This is how gaming will be - the quality titles will be rare because most studios will focus on either visuals or the key 'selling feature' over gameplay.

Only a handful of companies focus soley on the gameplay experience, and Rockstar are one of them. Ballad of Gaye Tony for example was an amazing experience, not to mention GTA despite having crap missions.

I'm sorry I don't agree.

Dragon Age, Uncharted, Batman and several other games are / were fantastic. Plus that isn't even counting a lot of the games I haven't had time to touch yet like Forza 3 or section 8.

I'm still playing CS Source, I struggle to get into anything else.

CS / CS:S / TF2 are the only games I play now. I am even debating about purchasing a ps3, and just use the pc as media centre.

Sad days as I always have been a PC gamer, everything just seems to be console cast offs and no point in spending the cash on pc!

I tend to get bored with games easily now also, you look forward to a new title coming out & then it doesn't live up to all the hype for one reason or another.
Games keep getting shorter, in the old Quake era days you would get about 30 levels & a big thick manual with details of all the weapons & enemies, now you might get about 10 -15 levels or missions etc & 2 page  manual
Back then there was plenty of scope for developers to come up with something completely different but now it's much harder as all we can expect to get is variations on a theme already done to death, WW2 & onwards etc.

Younger/new gamers might still find it all exciting stuff but they won't remeber the earlier stuff even tho it's all still available they will cringe at the dire low res graphics.
Thought I'd give Jedi knight dark forces 2 another blast but couldn't stand the visuals for more than a few minutes & yet back then we were amazed ,lol

You have to remember that it is you changing as much as the games. When you first played that FPS for 3 months non stop it was your first time, now you are doing it again 5 years later it isn't going to seem as fresh. Yes they can increase the graphics and even the gameplay but at the end of the day you can play more good games than they can make em and this willl be the case for the forseeable future.

Games slowly evolve over decades, when you were young you had 30 decades of games evolution to play with, now you are upto date so to speak it is 1 years development for years play time, so it seems like it is slowing down.

So eventually you are going to get bored. Get another hobby and take a break for a bit.

Plenty of new good games and they are still evolving, just very slowly. Slower than you. So you can't spend all your time playing them forever without getting bored unfortunatly.

I persoanally feel we need more FPSRPG type games. I have stopped playing Aion 24/7 to play Borderlands for a bit, Aion is great but it is a MMORPG at the end of the day, similar to the rest of em, they are 90% all the same tbh. Played some COD4 until I got bored because at the end of the day it is a FPS and is the same as the rest of them also really.

MMOFPS is the way forward for me. Loving Borderlands and Planetside was probably the best game I have ever played.
Has the longevity of an RPG and the short term fun of an FPS.
