Well I'm back. I didn't die.
I thought about the problem logically. Then decided to tackle it like a real man: brute force
I spent an hour on and off.. yes an hour undoing it.... It worked. And the soup was both hot and yummy. My hands however are now screwed beyond all recognition and are like two little claws.

Maybe I'll have a similar problem tomorrow, taking soup again to work - I think. Although, it was a complete anticlimax today and I didn't even eat my bread... Hmmmm.... Chinese all you can eat buffet anyone? £5! Bargain.
