Not for me , now I saw a new BMW M3 today in white with its carbon fiber roof and that looked fantastic
Hmm so a V8 powered, rock hard sports saloon or a Hydraulic suspensioned, V6 huge luxury french barge, I dont really see the comparison?
The C6 can be had for around 29k now, so its along the same lines as new Merc C or Audi A4 / BMW 3 series (not the M3 though!!) BUT its technically from the next class up, aimed more to compete with the E class or A6 / 5 Series.
Big Cit's always do one thing superbly, waft. They are styled to look good wafting, their suspension is perfect for wafting, and their gearing etc is usually setup for laid back wafting. The term "Gallic" is quite apt tbh. They are a totally different breed to the hard nosed teutonic alternatives.
However the whole "french so it'll break after 2 minutes" (even though french diesels are the cars you see racking up biblical mileage...) and lack of image means that the types of buyers who will look are in fact Mondeo man etc, for whom 29k is just a tad to high to stray from what they know.
Given 5 years of depreciation, the V6 HDi C6 in top trim will be a stonking second hand buy.
personally i love it, i love its styling, i love its interior and having experienced a (now) old version of the hydraulic suspension setup, i like that as well. But then again i also dont drive down many country lanes on a Sunday just for the hell of it, I use my car to take me to places, and I like to sit back and relax when I do so.
