Thierry Henry is back

I could see Henry on the left wing cutting in and curling one to the far post. My predominant memory of Arsenal is still an attack down the left with Cole, Pires and Henry.

Jack Wilshire should be back soonish too shouldn't he?

lol, WIlshire back soon, lol, I think his injury recovery(seeing as it happened last ruddy season and was fixed magically over summer by...... completely ignoring it and hoping for the best) has already basically been put back 4-5 times, ages ago they said Jan, that has slipped to feb iirc, and by Feb that will likely be back further, it is Arsenal of course ;)

Much as I love Henry, wow he looked unfit tonight, great finish, classic Henry basically. But after his goal, he looked utterly shattered, except the one run down the right which he looked like he regretted straight after :p

Okay its his first game but, he doesn't look like there is a chance in hell of him playing a full game in all honesty.

Larsson was used mainly as a super sub at Barca and MU, in the latter part of a games fitness doesn't really matter as much.

I hope Wenger doesn't start him and ruin everyone's memory of him, he should only be used for 30 minutes maximum.

LOL i dont think even Wenger is that stupid to start him or get him to play a full game...hes not fit enough for a start and secondly i imagine that Wenger will play him as an impact player or when RVP needs a rest or something.

We have him for 8 weeks so might as well get the best that we can out of him.

Welcome back Henry and the goal he scored last night, that was just vintage Henry all along...cant stop watching the replays of the goal he scored....absolutely immense seeing him score last night.

:D:D

Watching the match against Leeds Arsenal couldn't finish, Henry comes on gets his one chance and takes it beautifully, sign or a great player taking your chances.

It's not at all, but there you go. Henry missed plenty of chances, in fact I don't think he's ever been significantly higher than scoring 1 in every 5 shots he's taken, which isn't bad at all, its not epically brilliant.

Messi isn't massively clinical, Ronaldo isn't even close to clinical.

The sign of a great player is someone who consistently gets in positions to score, and is simply a very good player. Hernandez had one of the best shots to goals ratio in the league last year, yet he's anything but a great player, and in fact very very limited as an actual footballer. He's a guy that won't ever get a Ballon d'Or, while Henry/Messi/Ronaldo are the types who do win awards and they aren't noticeably more accurate than "lesser" players.

Athleticism, there are plenty of athletes, that isn't what made Henry great, its intelligence(in a football sense) knowing when and where to run, who to pass to and when, when to shoot and when to pass, those things are the sign of a great player.

Some might think I'm sad but I got my GF to go and get my away shirt printed with henry 12 earlier :D I was going for the classic 14 but it didn't seem right.
