What happend.
I find it so difficult to understand why people don't wear helmets be it on a motorbike or a pedal cycle. When you see grizzly scenes like you and I have, it really changes your perceptions.
Do you know if it was a fatal?
I was on holiday in Rhodes-Pekoes a place I enjoy nice small village plenty going on ect.
We got friendly with a Greek couple and they decided to take us to Prasonisi.
On the way there a chopper styled motor cycle came flying past us and as an old biker myself I could see the bike was driven by a pillock with a very nice lady with long flowing hair on the back.
I said to my wife " they are going to crash and burn he is driving like a idiot".
Well after they left us behind we came around a corner near a small village and the bike had hit the back of a small Honda car and it was caved in and blood was all over this car.
The driver of the bike was on the floor and rolling around so I got out of our car and went looking for the women passenger of the motorbike and guessed perhaps she had been catapulted forward and was more likely in the scrub land near the road, I must have looked for a few minuets but could not find her.
I then turned around and started to walk back the car which they had hit and then seen her as she was trapped under the car they had hit.
Apparently they had hit the back of this slow moving car and she had been catapulted forward onto the road, they had hit with such force the car carried on and then ran over her.
Anyhow some Greeks were pushing and pulling at this car with her underneath so I ran over going mental and pushed them away and told them to stop!
I looked under the car and the fender had sliced her midriff and her innards were hanging out and there was a mixture of grey red blood which I just knew was from the head.
My Greek friend came over with his car jack but I knew we had to try and get the car off her quickly.
I told my friend to tell the Greek on lookers to help me lift the front of the car off her which we did.
I then told my wife to get the towels out of the car and to give them to me but not look at the women who was injured as my wife is a fainty person and 2 people to look after would only hamper things - I was not worried about the driver of the bike at this time as he was rolling about screaming and some Greeks were looking after him.
I then wrapped a towel around the belly of this women and tried my best to keep her innards intact and as clean as possible.
Then I tried to put her in my best guess what the recovery position should be and using my hand to gently cradle her head I found the back of her skull was mashed and sort of detached.
There was noting else I could do but hold it together as best as one could.
The lady then started to fit due to the brain injury I guess and started to say something like "mitrea" not sure on that bit, but my Greek friends wife had come over and started speaking to her or trying- it was no good she did not seem to hear her.
I asked my friends wife" what is she saying?" - "she is asking for her mother" came the answer.
Anyhow I made some Greek guys stand over us with towels to shade her from the sun whilst we waited for the joke of an ambulance to come.
I had an idea from the injuries she was going to die so I made sure her bits were all covered up and she would die with dignity if that was the outcome.
The ambulance or more like the surfers van arrived and they unceremoniously dumped her on a stretcher whilst leaving half of her back head on the road.
SO DON'T YOU LOT EVER COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR AMBULANCE GUYS THEY WOULD HAVE TIRED TO PATCH HER UP AND KEEP HER ALIVE!.
The rest of our day was rather muted as you can imagine.
In the evening after getting back to our hotel and getting dressed for our night out I had to change some money and went downstairs to the exchange shop which was run by a English women.
We got chatting when she told me about a fatal motorcycle accident where a women passenger had died before she got to hospital.......... yup it was this one.
I got very drunk that night, but I will never forget that day as long as I live.
Sorry if the spelling and grammer is rubbish, it just a quick recap.
I don't like to think about this much.
