Things seen in passing that have left an impression?

Didn't you hear anything when he got shot?

Nope, busy night in Basra lots of cars cutting about.Warriors engines are pretty load and we were all mounted inside with our headsets on.

It was a 5.56 round too, so either they had an American weapon or it was a captured sa 80 as a few were taken years before when rmps were murdered by angry mob.

Waiting to use the toilet in The Waterhole (i think) Skegness durin a 5 day lads trip away
All urinals full and so was the cubical. I was 3rd in the queue when 2 people at the urinal finished then someone came out of the cubical so i went to go for a quick slash in the cubical. Walking to the cubical i got my tackle out ready to go when i see a man stood with his trousers down his ankles bent over the toilet. I screamed some obscenetys at him as i zipped up and told everyone what was happenening in the toilet. Only to see the man who had left the cubical before me be stood at the condom machine.

A UFO up very close in Sept 1996 (posted in a thread before)

A businessman that had hanged himself along a fence on a railroad in Croydon (can't remember the year, but I was working down there) - I could see him with bluebottles all over him, not nice.

One of my customers last year in bed - dead.

Cottaging going on in a public toilet :(

motorbike accident a few weeks ago, guy had no helmet I proceeded to take the motorbike off the top of him while another English bloke stopped all traffic. Went back to the Lao guy after blood everywhere running down the road.

All that property washed away (hope most people made it out).

The wave that hit was 25m (yes metres) high at Nobiru. Afaik most of the properties were holiday homes so most people weren't there (the tsunami was in March). I do know, however, that the "evacuation centre" in the next town (a high school gym) was filled with people who had fled there during the quake and did get washed away in the tsunami. :(

Well you've certainly been in some situations.

I once saw a guy jumping off a cliff in a well known suicide spot. Couldn't bring myself to watch him land though and people at the top who were trying to stop him rang 999 straight away.

Well she survived the Motorway and she survived jumping off the bridge onto the A50 at the end of our street - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en...=24FCIJcbB0IilN2VS2Bweg&cbp=12,257.78,,0,7.88
When did she die?

not that long after the crazy events that happened, iirc like 5 months later both were dead.

i could be wrong, but i remember hearing something like one that was not kept in jail went on to kill a guy and then maybe herself, and then the last one left heard the news and killed herself in her cell.

Cutting the cord at my daughters birth (not exactly something in passing but it left a big impression on me that's for sure).

Stoner81.

Yesterday left an impression on me.
My Step mum rang me up and I could hardly hear her because she was coughing & spluttering all through the conversation while obviously smoking.
I then rushed to see my Dad (age 76) in CCU where he was taken in and they told him his smoking was the main cause.
I walked out of Cardiology facing the Cancer Centre where I could see at least 6 patients tied to stands with intravenous drips while smoking.
I then walked around the corner to the Maternity Centre where there was about 4 new Mummy's ready to drop were smoking.
What's up with people :(

Trying to

Holding the back of a young womens skull together whilst brain matter dripped over my hands and she went into fits. I was on holiday in Rhodes - no helmet bike crash.
Holiday sucked after that.

I find it so difficult to understand why people don't wear helmets be it on a motorbike or a pedal cycle. When you see grizzly scenes like you and I have, it really changes your perceptions.

Do you know if it was a fatal?

I never used to like wearing cycle helmets as a kid, they were really uncomfortable and made you hot and sweaty. I bought a decent one which was light, fits perfectly and is well ventilated which all in all makes you forget you're wearing it.
