Think the weather's grim? Get used to it.

Yes im sure its all great for u pasty boring people, but for the active type like me its a complete disaster.

When playing tennis, I much prefer it in the rain.

Nothing worse than playing it in the boiling heat and having your underwear swimming in sweat.

Bike riding is also easier too, with added fun in careering through mud and puddles as you scrabble your way down a hillside.

I don't mind the rain (it is good for mountain climbing as it keeps me cool), but I prefer dry, coldish weather at the weekend for mountain biking, as its not too much fun cycling in the wet and it is a real PITA to clean the bike and make sure all the drivetrain is degreased and re-lubed.

Plus I like to take the wife with me and she refuses to cycle in the rain!
Here here! I normally try and use my roadie also for shorter journeys, but I've been having to use the car instead. Last year was so much better! :(

Still, I'm doing all those things I've been putting off for a rainy day. :D

Firstly, why would you frequent a forum populated by 'pasty, boring people'?

And I'm pretty certain you can be an 'active-type' and dislike the hot weather. Don't be ignorant.

To be honest, I like rain. However, I do enjoy Summer. It'd be good if it wasn't as hot as last year in Summer, but rained throughout spring like it is now.

Need some sun to go down to the beach, as the North sea is fairly nippy when it's not sunny..

This weather is extremely depressing. I cannot believe those geezers at the church are blaming a lack of respect for the bible as the contributing factor to the atrocious weather conditions. That is laughable. I may now start to look for a nice holiday away in the sun.

"The adverse weather conditions we are currently experiencing, and the effects on so many unfortunate victims, including many churchgoers, are because GOD HATES FAGS."

Haha. Organised religion is a joke.

Thats funny,

Because I could have sworn the exact same experts said we were going to have the hottest / driest summer on record about 6 months ago.

As well as being the wettest June its also been the hottest.

We just spent the weekend in beautiful Cornwall, our favourite place atm.
It hammered down every day but we still had a great time, Lands End was especially enjoyable......ask Kiera

Doesnt bother me,can be a laugh scooting about in the rain on a bike. PITA when riding to work though.

Gives my mates saxo 1.1 the ability to wheelspin,J turn and handbrake skid so it can be some laugh. :D

Yeah, cos I'm pasty and not active in the slightest.

What a stupid post that was. Since when does wet/windy/cold weather stop you being active? It means you can be more active not less - unless you're a wuss.

See, that's proper British summer! Was like that here this morning so far, lots of fun. :D

Hmm. More from the BBC here.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6269046.stm

The outlook for July is "unsettled", with more rain at times, the BBC Weather Centre says. And others predict the wet weather will continue into September and beyond.

"July is going to be lousy and the rest of it, August and September, will not be worth waiting for," said Piers Corbyn, director of Weather Action.
