Just wanted to come back and say thanks for all the advice I got here. Basically bought the exact system I was spec'd: Pro-ject Primary E, Onkyo A9110 and Wharfdale Diamond 220s.
Literally only just wired it all up, certainly not the best layout by any stretch of the imagination but what a lovely sound! Have gathered 10 albums in preparation, first to hit the turntable is Daft Punk - Random Access Memories. On side 3, sat with a beer after a load of DIY. Lush.
Interestingly our cat went a bit crazy for 10 minutes, looking at the speakers as instruments kicked in etc and checking them out. She's obviously never heard anything this clean before either!
Thanks for the update. Glad that you're having fun
When you next have a bit of spare cash, your next purchase should be a record cleaning brush. Google for: Super Exstatic Anti Static Carbon Fibre & Velvet Vinyl Record Cleaner Dust Cleaning Brush Pad. At under £13.00 it shouldn't break the bank. I've been using the same design of brush with its velvet pad plus two rows of carbon fibre for the past three and a half decades. That's good value.
If you get in to rummaging through charity shops and car boots for albums then you'll probably need to do a bit more of a deep clean on some records. I have a tip about using wood glue that really works well.

discogs ?
I prefer project type ones with 2 adjacent carbon fibre rows .. and you can flip the brush through to knock the dust off ... not sure about the safety of a velvet bit.I was actually looking to buy one last night
4. Harvey Specter - Suits
This widely popular TV Series, now in its 5th Season, features the ruthless lawyer Harvey Specter. In his opulent office we regularly see his spectacular vinyl collection and his Pro-ject RPM 1.3 Genie but for some reason he still uses cheap Klipsch RB-51 (or 41) speakers on his system.
