Thinking of crap thread titles and buying an Xbox 360

All the games I want keep being delayed, so I've not bought one. The games it has at the moment are nothing specially. They are also revising the hardware in early 2007, so I might get one then..

its what you like. Personally i think pgr3, oblivion, cod2 and condemned are 4 of the best games ive ever played on a console (and ive owned a lot).

With Fight Night 3 that makes 4 ;)

Seriously though, look at the threads, 6 odd months of a lot of gaming fanatics having a blast.

This I think, answers the question :)

The best console out end of story

Will the PS3 be better? cant see it one thing i do know is the PS3 will cost more

I was tempted to get an xbox but for me there just aren't any killer 360 only titles out there yet. Maybe that'll change over the next couple of months, but by then it'll be worth waiting for the PS3 as a comparison and maybe a price drop will happen.

Most of the good titles either look better, control better or more modable in their PC incarnation, I'm thinking of Oblivion and any FPS like CoD2 here.

Oblivion is a killer 360 title, that alone is not enough though.

It controls and looks better on my 360 however, and I'm not bothered about mods, I want to play the game, not have a boobie patch while I fly through the air.

Well a lot of this comes down to personal preference, though I find it hard to believe it controls better on a pad than on a mouse/keyboard combo, each to their own tho. Does the Xbox suffer from the 'soup' problem that is easily fixed on the PC and can you run with HDR and AA simultaneously? As for Oblivion mods, I was thinking of the expanded map view and item list for example.

Doesn't Oblivion run like a bit of a dog on the 360? Does it detract from the gaming experience?

I'm hoping MotoGP 2007 is going to be the next killer app. That game may force me into buying a 360. However the video released doesn't look too special, so we will have to wait and see..

Huh? You serious? 360 titles at their best look better than any ive seen on PC and that includes sli7800GTX setups. And thats on a normal RGB setup, on a high def they look unbelievable and the framerates are usually better (COD2 was a dog on PC, so is oblivion if set too high).

In short ive not seen BETTER graphics than on 360 yet so your talking out you bumhole

I prefer controllers, mouse and keyboard just doesn't sit right for first person stuff personally.

Soup problem? I don't know about HDR and AA, it's not a PC, it looks lovely.

Oh, so nothing that's particular bothersome to the game then? Goodo.

i don't want to turn this into a pc vs. 360 thread, as i've said i'd consider getting one if it had the right games for me so i'm not slagging it off. soon as i see a game i must have i'll be out buying one. :D

i've got a fairly good spec pc so have personally had no problems running stuff like cod2 and oblivion with all the bells and whistles on. the soup problem i was referring to is the strange look that distant landscape textures have, it can be fixed quite easily on PC, so in that sense it does look better than the 360 version.

i haven't finished oblivion properly yet so haven't added any mods besides improvements to the UI as i said previously. there are currently 110 listed on gamespot alone (http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/theelderscrollsivoblivion/downloads.html?mode=mods), some are rubbish, some are technical improvements but there are a lot of interesting ones that add new races and missions or make the game more realistic. i personally think that this coupled with the fact the pc version is cheaper and can be used with a mouse/keyboard makes it far superior, that is just my opinion though.
