Thinking of getting Samsung Jet

Sigh what?

I have both phones, I've tried them both. Sure one phone is more than twice as expensive as the other but the OP wanted to know opinions of the Jet.

I've given him what I thought about it, what's with the roll eyes?
What's not accurate about my post?

1- It's boring - theres no apps unlike a smartphone running symbian/android/apple - check
2- Phone is slow - compared to the HTC Diamond/Hero and 3GS (i've owned them all), if it's slower than the HTC Diamond, the phone is SLOW - check
3- Screen unresponsive - it's resistive unlike the Hero/3GS, sometimes you have to press really hard when going through menus/sending texts, even my Diamond was more responsive - check
4- Web browser diabolical - with the Jet connected to my home Wi-fi my 3GS is quicker loading engadget on EDGE (cache emptied) - check

The OP also wanted to know which to choose between the Jet and the i8910. I told him to get the i8910 as it's much better phone.

Tell me again, why are you sighing?

I have to disagree on all of the above points apart from point 1, then again I wouldn't really say the phone was 'boring'. I'm sure it might be nice to have lots of little apps to play with but to be honest when I'm choosing a phone these are probably the last things on my list of criteria. On all the other points im afraid you're just wrong. :)

Sigh because no matter what phone is discussed or asked about it always seems to come back to 'well my iphone is better because blah blah blah'.

Indeed the i8910 is a better phone but then it costs considerably more, and so does the 3GS.

The Jet can be had brand new for £200 without contract, if I wanted the same on a 3GS then I'd be looking at nearer £800. Thats 400% the cost of the Jet, is it 400% better than the jet. I can't see it.

Its like comparing a BMW 5 Series to a Proton, you just wouldn't.

I'm not saying get the Jet, I'm just not comparing it to things in a different league.

If you re-read my previous post, you will also see I've compared it to a 2 year old phone (HTC Diamond) which you can get now for £100-£130.
Anyone who's owned the Diamond will know it's not a speedy phone but I know it's much faster than the Jet.

Also it was not me who suggested the i8910, it was the OP himself. If he is asking which to get between these two, I'll reply back with the i8910. What is the problem with me saying that?

1- At least we agree on this (sort of)
2- Phone IS slow - watch the video reviews on youtube, it is slower than my HTC Diamond. You cannot tell me I am wrong
3- Screen IS unresponsive - watch the videos on youtube again - HTC Diamond was also more responsive, the Touch Flo 3D worked great on it
4- Web browser is diabolical - if you are used to using Opera Mobile / Safari, the browser that comes in the Jet is rubbish.

Lets do a test, if you believe the phone is fast, post a video of you browsing your music collection, photos, videos, zooming and panning on a high content web page.

Prove me wrong and I will post a video of my Jet to show how slow it really is.

You can't just say 'I'm just wrong' without any evidence backing you up especially when I've had first hand experience of all the phoned I've mentioned.

Finally, I'm not just biased towards the iPhone.
Things I like about Jet
+ AMOLED Screen
+ 800x480
- Smaller form factor (i like that it's smaller but the screen is smaller...)
+ Better at getting good signal (sometimes indoors the iPhone can struggle to get 3G)
+ The red effect on the back is kinda cool

Im not THAT bothered about it.:p

My sister has the Jet, she loves it and now she loves it even more because the other day we were comparing features, it's not a bad phone it's just got a slow interface thanks to a crappy CPU, the featureset is pretty nice, it has "bump" action movement for flicking through images etc and touch sensitivity is accurate.

She likes it even more because she found out it has an AmoLED screen and that my Google Phone does not (!) and that she can send/rec bluetooth files and I cannot (could not get the OBEX apps to work off Market!).

Anyway, I put her in her place by showing off how fast mine was and the multitouch browsing :p

The handset looks and feels nice though.

Anyone got the Jet working properly with Windows 7?

Latest version of PC Studio installs ok but none of the drivers do, meaning sw is redundant anyway. I emailed them, and got a dreadful reply that had no relevance. I can't even uninstall the (Vista?) drivers that got installed incorrectly now.

Maybe it's jsut a question of being patient and waiting for the sw and driver update.
