Hey,

I've just bought 2 extra hard drives for my system and have installed them. Problem is, I can only see one of them. I've tried changing the power cable and the SATA slot it plugs into but nothing. Anyone know what's up?

I'm running a Gigabyte DS3 and the HD that won't show is a WD 500gb.

Have you checked in Computer Management?

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management

They should be listed in there if not in My Computer.

Also are they listed in the BIOS?

OK, does it spin up when you power the PC on?

Which SATA ports are you using?

Which DS3 board is it, the 965-DS3, 965-DS3R or P35-DS3?

What mode are the 2 sets of SATA ports set to in the BIOS?

Do you have drivers loaded in Windows for both SATA controllers?

Well, I disconnected it from the mount and powered on to nothing, it doesn't spin up at all. Back it goes! Thanks for the help guys.

Make sure they refund you the cost of returning it as they are legally obliged to do that with DOA products. Many other computer parts suppliers will actually arrange to pick up DOA products.
