Absolutely, but I still think it’s worth letting them know that they’ve wasted your time.
Being honest that you’ve lost out at their expense isn’t going to burn any bridges if you keep calm and be firm. Wording it that “I’m disappointed that I made the journey, when it seems clear the decision to fill the position had been decided. I was excited at the opportunity to interview but financially it has left a sour taste in my mouth”. You can come up with something better, but you get the gist.
Ringing them up and calling them all ******* is probably not the tactic I was recommending
Hahaha, you won't believe what happened, a different person that work for this company that shall remain unamed approached me on Linkedin last week asking me if I was interested in a job in area xyz, I said I'm interested and would love to hear more about it. Turns out it's for the very job that I was told was already taken so I asked again, are you sure this job is available?
They said yeah sure, then I told them I've already had an interview and that I was told the position had been filled, they asked who interviewed me, told them.
Received no reply, asked the following day and a few days after that as well if there were any updates on the job application. **** Ignored me
Honestly had enough of this profession, I'm negotiating hourly rates every single day for shifts and when it comes to applying for something permanent they just want the cheapest person
I'm out
I've signed up for some udemy courses to get a basic understanding of python, SQL etc
