This Business and Moment...

So it turns out it's ******* knackering running a company  :D
Keep on pushing on mate, you've done immensely and I love following your progress and the company growth! Just don't let it kill you :P

Everything I saw while I was training made it seem like exactly the type of job I hoped it would be. An expectation not to work more than 9-5 and generally lower stress. Ideal.
Mega bonus! WFH and good WLB is the best you can ask for ;)

Internet in the office is utter trash this morning and it's doing my head in. I have a load of processy BS to get through and I really don't want to but hey...

We have made some changes to house design and sent them to architect. We don't really want their design, we want them to basically approve our stuff and get the mairie to sign it off. Then we can sign the sale agreement as the estate agent is giving us **** about hurrying up. All getting a bit fun.

Everyone is so busy with real lives that most of my external side work is slow as anything. It's so depressing. I want everyone to be 100% full on, but it's the way it is so I have to just go with it... would be nice for this stuff to come off though so we could get some cash in! That'd be nice I have to say.

Hey ho, it is what it is. Hard when you don't pay people to get 100% of their time!

Why don't you design a more coherent house? That design (and I mean this from my taste, so no offence intended) looks like you connected multiple smaller barns together and called it a day.

You'd still have issues, perhaps more due to the rules on planning and where you can and can't build on your plot with relation to the boundary on new builds. That, plus we did look at the options for this and the main house is in really good nick, so the cost would actually be more to do something completely new. Not to mention the garage part, while not shown on my drawings, actually extends back even further, so is not fully detached, which makes it more complicated too. The way we've designed it gives us the central enclosed courtyard we want, as well as keeping the old Alsatian style mixed with a new modern twist. No offence taken :) Everyone is welcome to an opinion and it's not for everyone, for sure.

My mate used to advise Brits on French mortgage applications - the hoops that you have the jump through in France are on a completely different level to what we're used to. There's no messing about once you sign the sale agreement!
It's a really weird system, but if you don't get one thing right you can lose a lot of cash. If we get tied into the CdV (sales agreement) and can't do what we want, pulling out loses us about 25k. Not what you want... our mortgage man is really good though, he seems to know all the tricks and loopholes so that's handy to have.

Just waiting for a formal offer to come in before handing in my notice.
Great news! Congratulations and I'm glad it lined up nicely with the **** at your current place.

I'm looking about in Basel at the moment. Not sure this role has much left in it contract wise so want to get out ahead if anything. Especially if this house stuff starts! Full time job this job hunting.

Just heading to a meeting about Blockchain with the novartis international heads of their department. I do NOTHING blockchain related at work, but obviously outside I do, would love to actually do something fun at work so have been plotting ways of making that happen... see what happens.

Balls ***** ****. Mairie won't allow us to do what we want on the house. I've come up with a very simple renovation for the house and lowered the budget significantly with the view to trying to renovate and make a profit on it. Sent this to the architect and will see what they come back with. Our issue is that there really aren't that many properties that come up in our area (where we want to stay) that match this criteria and scope. If we can get this one and do a good job on a budget, we could hopefully not only make somewhere nice to live (wife is so desperate to move due to building work around us) but also get us some cash out of it in the end and the next build will be even better :p

Interesting couple of days...

Signed sale agreement on a house.
Drafting a sales agreement for a small deal for emotuit ($2.5k setup fee, $3k per year paid at $250 a month)
Signing on partners for our VolAir customers to give them more around travel. https://www.royaltyexoticcars.com/ in Vegas coming on board, as well as these resorts:
- Soneva, Maldives & Thailand
- The Intercontinental Phuket, Thailand
- The Westin, Maldives
- Sheraton Full Moon Resort & Spa, Maldives
- Castilla Termal Hotels, Spain
- The Selman, Marrakech

As well as an outage at my day job meaning I worked 26hours over mon-tuesday, which was pain.

A balance of a week for sure!

Man, been some fun times of late. How is everyone?

Sales agreement sent for emotuit. Chasing that.
Signed partners being chased for some documentation.
Marketing opportunity arisen to be a vendor at Magic Johnson's 60th birthday in St Tropez in Sept for VolAir. List of people going is crazy. Would be a great marketing opportunity. Need to do 2 things to make it happen: Finish app testing, add a couple of features, test, launch. Redo site. Sell 2 tickets to this event to help lower the costs :o
Anyone want to do a 6 day jolly with Drake and Samuel L Jackson etc. all access VIP, only 10k a piece? :D

I hate oracle tbh and all their stuff.

House update... coming together with architect, still a way to go to exchange in July!
Randomshenans French Renovation Journey

VolAir met another reallllly really useful guy who wants to come on board as strategic partnership head, which would be great. Spent hours on the phone with him, now need to work out how to make it work and not pay him :D
Still pushing on with delivery on the app, as well as kicking everyone's ass to make this Magic Johnson event happen. I think I might have sold 3 tickets... potentially. And arranged the guy who does all the content / social for the world's biggest watch blogger/ lux lifestyle blog (watchanish) on insta/ web with 1.7m followers! He'd come and do all our videography which would be huge. Would use it as a public launch I think. Great chance to make some huge connections. I think I can make this work which would be mental. Bit of a mission getting the app finished, it's the last couple of bits but it's the most important bits. It's like 10% left but the guy is a bit of a pain to manage :D I've stepped up the motivation either way. Need to soft launch soon so we can bug find in the whole process before Sept.

We launched GoatDEX, dunno if I said, I forget what day it is. https://dex.goat.cash/#!/trade/VOL-ETH and listed VOL tokens on there :D haha we've got a ton of stuff to do on the contract side of this, but I want the guys to finish the admin / referral UI on VolAir **** first, so I'm whipping the right things!! This can wait...!
Will be making fees per tx split between the token and ourselves, so if XYZ token list with us, they get 50% split fees when anyone makes a trade. Incentivise people to list and make other listings possible in their own token, not 2BTC which is what everyone else charges as a minimum.

Community is growing on Goat Cash though... I just try and keep up.

Emotuit got a sales contract out for review and Sean fixed ASU issues, so trying to meet them next week. Might finally come good? I committed to put some time into business development on this as I have been a bit foot off the gas. Starting with content, linkedin posting etc. it's a great market for this industry, just with targeted posts really. Trying this and will monitor activity.

My project at Novartis has been put on hold... I still am ASM for the application, but they're not going to be pushing the rollout of the software to the rest of the company. What the future holds for me? No idea, but my manager told me to keep him in the loop (he's in the US) as soon as I know anything, and he'll look after me and find me something. Which is a bit of a weight off!

Anddddd that's me...

My wife and I were chatting and I was like, there totally needs to be a vivino for cheese and she was like jesus **** Ross, no. I was like, ****, I can't get it out my head now, so me and my son sat and designed it all and put it all together hahaha

You don't start making that decision at the point of an offer, though. By the time you get an offer, you should already have made a decision as to if the company is right for you.

I want someone that is incredibly passionate about the job. By the time we'd get an offer to them, they'd have typically been through 4-5 interviews. If they haven't made their mind up in that time, then they're not the right candidate.
This is stupid.

It is, sure, but it's not often just them a part of the decision making process. At least, not affected by it, it's the whole family. Giving someone 24hrs to decide on something of that magnitude would just not ever be on my approach. If that's what you do, that's your call, but it's not something I've ever done, or would ever do.
