I agree with you completely, after many years on this forum these kinds of threads are on the rise. Especially the tripe threads.

This is exactly why I dont think banning these people is a good idea, its great to see people using reason against them!

Also im not complaining about the change, its just an observation :)

I tend to agree with this.

In saying that I don't think tolerance should extend to letting the same people drag up the same debates over and over again just by posting a new newspaper link. It's incredibly tedious.

We're damned if we do, damned if we don't. It's about trying to balance people's freedom to express themselves and put forward their views. Whilst 99% of us don't necessarily agree with some very right wing views, we can't censor everything - we need to try and moderate the views expressed so that whilst contentious are not full on rude/rule breaking.

However, I ask of you, should there be anything which you feel personally aggrieved about - email me or one of the team and we can discuss it.

I agree... however just closing/deleting threads that the mod team deem "wrong" isn't really fair on the community.

Wasn't there a racist thread that a mod closed and banned the OP (who had done similar threads before) but then Spie reopened and unbanned on the basis of free speech not too long ago. Can't remember the name of the OP but it seems the mods can't win on this one.
 
If you see something that is very obviously over the line then RTM it and it will normally get dealt with. However someone just holding racist or out their views isn't (and shouldn't be) enough, it has to be especially offensive.
