Shopping for specialist baking tat - basically stopping in every supermarket on the way home (including a detour and breaking my bus journey).

It'll save me driving my girlfriend around tomorrow if I can get everything though.

Edit: also spent about 2 hours figuring out how to encode video so it plays out on our office TV network. Now have a crackling fire on the reception TV by the Christmas tree :D

well ,after 4 months of financial self support post redundancy (i walked the camino in some of this time ) ive signed up with an agency ,its just a case of which part of your body you wish to destroy to the jobs you accept ,been a minimum wage monkey (but in a favourable west facing property)
so im getting increasingly dunk on mid range red wine after 3 and a half days of toil ,hey ho

Working.

Well, I say working. I'm the only doctor in the hospital, I can count the patients on my fingers & toes. I have a sofa, tv, laptop, tea, snacks, pillow and blanket and hope the bleep doesn't go off until 8am.

Not to jinx it, but is it particularly quiet for this time of year? Or just a tad early on a Friday night?

It's a small hospital that had most of its services moved away to another nearby hospital. Only 2 wards still here.
Apart from a call at 1am, they all were nice and settled.
 
Got dropped off by the Mrs at Manchester airport on Sunday afternoon to fly out to Switzerland for a course with work. It was only once I’d got into the lift to departures that I realised that I’d left my phone on the wireless charger in the car. :( By the time I realised my wife would have been driving the car home, and it’s not like I could have called her to turn around anyway, as I didn’t have a phone!

So it’s like having a limb cut off, I was properly stressing about being able to find my hotel (which was only compounded by KLM having delays on both legs of my flight to Zurich) as I’m pretty much dependent on Google Maps to get around somewhere I’ve never been before, plus it had my boarding passes saved on it, all my music on my Spotify and so on. It just goes to underline how reliant on them we’ve become. It’s also made me notice while on the excellent buses and trains here just how many people are on their phones, pretty much constantly.

Work Xmas do? Mine was just now too if so. Didn't get too drunk, had like 10 free rum and cokes but ate so much free food that I only felt tipsy. :p

Accidentally felt up my coworkers bum because she went in for a one armed hug but her bag was in the way so I thought it would be fine to go below the bag but it turns out that was bum. She found it funny. Then dragged me onto the dancefloor. But I can't dance so it was really awkward. :p :p
 
@Acme Yeah work Xmas do. I decided to try the red wine. Never really been a red wine drinker. I was taking it slowly at first but then once I got "giddy" I was being less cautious lol. Ugh and then we did a tequila shot (Not as nice as I remember) and then a colleague made me have some G and T because I knocked her glass whilst we were dancing.

I only went to bed around 3am and my lovely cats have just woken me up :rolleyes:

Going to feed the little ***** and go kip on the sofa. Need a full English right now:D

2pm?! Ouch. I'm a lightweight and hadn't had a drink in almost a year.

I managed to take all my make up off and get in my pjs but forgot to clean my teeth. I did however send a few voice notes to people, one being me singing I'm drunk to the tune of Baby shark :o

Certainly feeling it this morning :o so glad I had coffee in the house and eggs. No sausage, bacon, or beans though :(

My mum and nephew are coming over later for a curry and to watch the Strictly final so I'm gonna spend the day on the sofa nursing my headache and watching as much Xmas tv as possible :D
 
Some scrotes have been stealing, cutting and smashing Christmas decorations. Caught them on cctv doing the same to ours last night, but fortunately only minor damage and one light up star taken. I’m now watching our cctv waiting for their return.

That's horrible:( there are some proper ***** out there.

....

Can't believe tomorrow will be 8 years since my dad passed away :( still have moments where it feels surreal, still have times where I forget for a split second and think "wonder if dad can help with this" and then it hits me :(
 
Hope Tuesday wasn't too rough on you :( lost my dad but he wasn't around much anyway so it's only deep personal crisis I really wish he was around for advice.

Just one more day of work and it's on christmas eve so will be easy. Just want some time to rearrange my house really :o
