Haha there are no rules where tasty chicken is concerned!

Yeah but was the tasty chicken worth the pain you're going to experience from not following food safety rules :p

Ugh, I have 3 work sims that still haven't activated and it's been over 24 hours now
I don't want to have to keep faffing about with these blooming mobile phones (had to set up emails on 24 handsets over weds/thurs) Especially as I'm on furlough for 3 weeks starting Monday. I want to make the most of these weeks to get my own stuff done lol

Ah makes such a difference having my headphones now. I can listen to tunes and vacuum at the same time  and May be have a dance whilst doing it :o :D

Think it's pre-plexi as it's the 18W model that was sold as 1973 and 1974. 2xEL84 for power amp. I'll definitely get a build log up, but I'm still dicking around with cameras!

oh, it’s a replica circuit, I didn’t know Marshall did an 18w back in the 70’s. Thought true were all big 50w and up.

No pain, no gain.

Since it’s Easter I decided to do a little reading on the basis that I don’t have a scooby on most Christian things.

First on the agenda is ‘why is it called Good Friday when Jesus died?’ - answer: because ‘good’ in this context means ‘holy’.

Then for some reason I decided to find out what is the difference between Anglican and Catholic Churches and stumbled across this article:

http://www.rightreason.org/2014/how-are-anglicans-different-from-catholics/

It’s kind of interesting actually because there is a lot in common but stark differences. The big points seem to be (simplified):

- Anglicans believe that everything you need is in the bible alone and there is no authority other than the bible, whilst Catholics take teachings from the church which is effectively an extension of the holy teachings.

- Anglicans believe that ‘faith alone’ offers salvation whilst Catholics believe that it’s the practicing of a holy life that leads to salvation.

- Catholics pray for the dead (which may offer some merit for those in purgatory) whilst Anglicans mostly pray for those alive (for the here and now).

I suppose Catholics think Anglicans are half-arsed whilst Anglicans think Catholics believe a load of mumbo-jumbo :p

Just interesting to me so I thought I’d share.

Isn't it historically that the Anglican church was split off by Henry VIII so he could divorce his wife/s? And he made himself head of the church. So does that mean we all hold him as the authority?

*edit, "we" meaning CoE folk. I also am not clued up on religion

The article I posted suggests that notion (the church was created principally so he could divorce) is not quite correct and that there had long been a dissent over Rome’s authority - on the basis that ‘the bible is all you need’. Or, the divorce thing was the straw that broke the camels back.

I don’t know much about it - I’m sure this is where Castiel would pop along with an epic post, had he not gone AWOL / FUBAR :p

Just watched the film Yesterday and had told my mum she might like it, so she watched it at the time same. Just asked her what she thought...

"Surprised no one knew who the Beatles were"

Oh mum. Just completely missed the point of the movie :p:D

(Apparently she missed that bit. She still doesn't understand she can pause the now tv box :o)

I am not an authority on the subject, but my understanding was that Henry made himself head of the Church of England, only answerable to god, basically removed the ability for the pope to interfere in his affairs directly, most importantly to him at the time was the ability to annul his marriages so he could re-marry.

His heir, Edward, died young, and the next in line was Mary. She was Catholic and tried to flip the realm back to Catholicism but faced some opposition.

One her death Elizabeth took over, and carried on the job Henry started, leading the church of England.

This all eventually lead the Spanish armada, or the attempted Spanish invasion which ultimately failed.

Sat, hopefully, my penultimate ACCA exam yesterday. Not getting my hopes up but it could have gone a lot worse.

Only one more left to do on Thursday. Majorly peed off though, they have closed my local exam centre (Chessington) and I have to slog to the Excel centre now :o

Passed Strategic Business Reporting, failed Advanced Audit and Assurance. I get to prolong my agony by a further six months as there are no June exam sittings :o. Strange feeling that I only have one exam left.

Had an interesting experience with my 3rd Audiologist today. This one bothered to find the upper and lower hertz range of my pulsatile tinnitus, and then try some masking narrow band sounds. None had tried the masking sound approach before.

He managed to submerge /cover the range of tinnitus sounds heard. For 5 minutes the somewhat loud matching masking sound was kept on - but I was able to concentrate during that better than I've managed for the last 5 years unassisted.

When the headphones came off, the treble pitch wave and volume of sound I normally hear was down to about only 7 per cent. It was remarkable. I felt 10 years younger (!) and free. Couldn't wait to get out of there and sense the world (as if for the first time).

Now, it's about 8 hours later. Usual noise has resumed, unfortunately. But, today was worth living for. A truly heartening experience.
