Car insurance renewal, covid style.

Been disturbed several times in the night to tend to matters so have binned the ambition of sleep and abandoned my ***king chariot (bed) for the night.

That's annoying, but better than churning. According to some the urge (need) to sleep will resume automatically around about 45 minutes later, iirc.

Thanks RxR. I managed to get a few hours in the end. It's been a beautiful morning here, I hope you're well.

That's good to hear. Things aren't too bad at this end. Apart from the usual work (the clock is still a *********), and usual health problems, I had the opportunity today to teach a young man some advanced pain management techniques, including by personal demonstration.

So that's one less burden off my shoulders. All in all, that knowledge transfer has been enough to mark the day a success.

Btw, the white noise tinnitus jammer I mentioned above is still working a treat, thankfully.

Has anyone ordered anything from OCUK recently? I've had an email saying it is expected today but the DPD tracker says they don't have the parcel yet. I assume it'll be a few days yet?

Just managed to break our cross-trainer, the only bit of exercise equipment I have access to, by standing on the cord for the power supply and snapping the end off the adapter.

So just learnt a valuable lesson about off site back up, at the cost of all of the photos of my daughter from when she was born till now.

Had them secured on a nas and we had a power failure which has caused both harddrive to die. Sent them off to data recovery and there quoting bottom line of £1k plus. Cant afford that so going through WhatsApp, Facebook and dropbox trying to recover the jpegs.

****** off is a under statement.

Personally, I'd unplug the disks and save for a bit until you can - I'd say all those memories are worth 1k.

That must suck :(

Have you checked if the drives spin up? You may be able to do a PCB swap if so. But I suppose the recovery firm will have assessed that.

They said the internal head had broken so the platters need to be moved to a donor.

Annoying thing was I literally purchased a small ups the weekend before.

The heads on both broke from a power failure? What company did you send them to?
