I’m so violently ill. Throwing up and diarrhoea all afternoon, stomach cramps to the extreme and my body is just shaking like crazy.

I have never had what I assume is D+V this badly, the retching is horrific I just wanted to curl up and cry….im late 30s

Sounds like what I had a few months back. It was absolutely brutal :(

Rat plague? Sounds appealing.

Spend huge resources exterminating feral cat populations then wonder why rodent populations explode (there was a biblical plague of mice in WA last summer). Sure cats are an introduced species but then so are rats and mice as is arable farming and the grain they're feeding on

Norovirus, should start to get better in a day or two its short lived thank goodness, it persists on work surfaces etc too so easy to pick up

Fwiw lad I had norovirus pretty seriously and couldn't get ahead of the dehydration. I almost had kidney failure so if you are still curled up in a ball by day 1.5/2 get yourself to a&e and on a drip.

Appendix?

I had similar with COVID-19 though not that extreme but as dlockers mentioned above after a couple of days it was getting dicey with dehydration and looking back on it was pretty risky really - I was within hours of a medical emergency.

Sounds nasty man. I’ve woken up today and my back/kidney area is killing me, as if somebody has punched me! Just sipping water and hope for the best!

Get on the fluid replacement stuff asap. Kidney pain means they're pruning up I guess!

And if you don't have fluid replacement stuff to hand, dissolve some salt and sugar in your water (the WHO recommendation is 8 level teaspoons of sugar, and 0.5 level teaspoons of salt dissolved in a litre of water).

Just been told a fairly major local housing development has been stopped by slow worms.

Apparently, even though there were a number of mysterious fires in the slow worm refuge area following the tree/ undergrowth clearance, they have been told they can't start work until next year after hibernation ends. Someone is supposed to catch them then.

Slow worms FTW!
