Needed to add my 18yr old daughter as a named driver on the run about car, was paying £41 a month for 2 cars and Aviva wanted to increase monthly payment to £150. Went onto Admiral and done it for £62 a month.

Talking of errors, I was on the phone to my credit card company for almost an hour to find out why I was charged interest. I always pay the balance of any purchases off in full to avoid paying interest. Turns out a small error I made (I'll admit it) meant that I was £9 short of clearing the total purchase balance, for which they charged me £30 in interest . Remember, if you spend £1,000.00 and only pay back £999.99 of it on time, they'll charge you interest on the whole £1,000.00.

£9 short, that sounds like a transposition error! (if the difference is divisible by 9).

Did you not manage to get a "in a gesture of goodwill, we'll cancel the charge this time" ?

Shocking that. That's how they get you.

When booking flights and hotels it's best to double check the date of the gig you're going to.... *facepalm*

But in a stroke of luck I found out the error after 23 hrs and 45 mins and Ryan Air do free flight amendments in the 24hrs from the booking :p
Friend’s ex bought flights on RA for Paris. Didn’t notice until the following day he selected Prague.

Was cheaper to keep the flights and book a Prague hotel.

Ended up being a better holiday as Paris is grotty, smelly and a rip off.

It was £9 and some change which incidentally was a purchase made by the other half that I didn't see so I didn't put it in to my calculations on how much to pay to clear. I have an 0% cash transfer which complicates the calculation and also means I can't set the direct debit to pay the full amount each month. Needless to say I've worked out how to avoid that in the future!

And no, they didn't waive the interest because it wasn't an error made by them. The only thing they could be accused of is making it intentionally complicated and not stating clearly the amount required to clear the purchases. I gave them that feedback for free :).
