Arrived in Cornwall.
Camping.

Yay summer.. Wait! :(

Getting ready to help a friend who is going into hospital for cancer treatment to install an improved CCTV system in his salon.

Close to the British museum, train strikes are going to add additional travel time and it looks like it'll pour down with rain :(

Not driving as I'll have to drive into London, pay congestion charge and pay for parking at extortionate rates.

Why do I cut myself at work in places that plasters don't stick? Cut is in the area between third and second finger. Those blue food worker plasters are useless. Had to wear a disposable blue glove to keep the plaster in place.

"Oh what have done to your hand?" "Why are you just wearing one glove?" was the things customers were saying to me.

After promising it for ages, my policeman friend took me on a ride along in Tower Hamlets. I can't really say much but regardless of our views with the police/London Met - it's worrying the level of under-resourcing they deal with, particuarly around social care and mental health support.

Plus the **** they have to deal with from elements of the public like hoax calls and chancers.

On the plus side, it was rather fun zipping around the streets of East London at breakneck speeds (we were in a response unit) and I helped solve a crime with my vigilant eyes :D.

Did you dive to protect your friend(sandwich) after a car backfired?

Intrigued to know the crime?

OMG - the Ross meme, too much :p

It was a stolen e-bike, we knew it was somewhere in a park. As we're cruising along, in a split second in my peripheral vision I noticed a bunch of junk behind a bush and what looked like a bike. We stopped and got out, sure enough the bike was under it all. Also met some police horses including PC Dave :D.

Remembered it’s supposed to be summer and would like to be outside sitting in my crappy garden, basking in the sunlight . eating healthy salad . But no, because the jet stream is broken …and it’s been cloudy and raining for last week (especially today) ....sitting here , in my dressing gown contemplating ordering dominoes for dinner because I’m too lazy to go and buy something less fatty

I didn't even know that was a thing in the UK? How did it all get arranged, imagine you had to sign off some liability stuff?
Neither did I until he invited me ages ago. Info on the London Met's scheme can be found here but believe other forces do their own version. And yes I had to sign some forms surrounding safety, all pretty standard stuff but I never felt unsafe - plus he had ultimate responsibility for my wellbeing so wasn't going to muck around. Got to attend their briefing session at the start updating on the latest info/people of interest which was interesting. And our first call was also attended by an armed response unit - fortunately it lead to nothing.

The other ride along passenger was my policeman friend's former boss. We did look like lemons near the start of the shift :p , two people who clearly weren't police officers loitering (we could enter/observe most situations). A really great experience.

Video doorbells for the win

Took the car out on Sunday for the first time in 2 months. Was expecting to start feeling pain again but *touch wood* I've felt OK since. No longer waking with an aching pain in my leg and now getting more than 5 hours sleep. Slowly recovering :) (still need to work on getting to bed earlier though...oops!)

In the office on Thursday for the first time in about 3 months. Feeling nervous about the drive and also it's for a 2 hour meeting ugh...over lunchtime with no mention of food being provided (good job I always take my own Lol!)

Might even be able to get to the hairdressers in the coming weeks and make myself a bit more presentable :D
