My grip strength is good (powerlifting) but I've learned to just let go and regrip is far easier and more annoying! :D However it does take its toll on your fingers, I tend to wrap them in tape which does help.

Yes bruises and friction burns.

In most situations "floor is death" is probably correct! :D We do striking a couple days a week, so it gives you a good blend of floor work and protecting from strikes whilst trying to get into dominant position on the floor. However, I find also you can get control of people without necessarily going onto the floor, although to score points in a comp you do need to either pass the guard, or get them on their back or of course submit them.

Another thing my club does is wrestling, and that has helped my grappling skills, especially in no gi where there's a different technique than relying on grips.

It's amazing how you can be in a compromised position on your back, but actually get the sweep, transition and get position on someone fairly quickly. Being on your back is never comfortable when you know a flurry of blows is likely to come!

We did back, sweep and transition last week. I liked that, it felt flow-y, and smooth, which is better than hoiking people about.

I'm finding letting go of a solid grip difficult once I'm locked on, but that is just experience, I suppose.

I haven't done a striking class yet. That will be an unpleasant experience, I am sure. My old knees don't get me about like they used to.

So how is OcUK for justice assistance threads these days? Are we still chill, or is it frowned upon? :p

I got scammed out of £55 and I have an address... I know someone will be interested in playing the bailiff. :D

Just sell the debit and then let them recover..

Contacted the docs and had to wait a couple of weeks to get a blood test to specifically check my B12 levels (ongoing issue), discussed my low B12 levels with the nurse taking the bloods explaining that's what the test was for, get my results today and they didn't do the B12 test on the sample...ffs

No but we can be self righteous and tell you how stupid you've been and how we're all perfect and would do everything carefully to ensure we don't get scammed.

One for @cheesefest - Co-op talking about ‘no go’ areas for shops due to crime and police lack of interest.

I would probably say that if they lowered the price of items (IE not charge £4.60 for a pack of 6 small cake slices) maybe crime will be lower. Just saying :)

Also, what is that image in the article about ? I thought that behind the counter by the tills has always been a "no go area" for anyone other than staff. Image doesnt make sense.

Or are they implying that they will concider not putting shops in the middle of a run down high crime council estate?

I don’t think criminals care about it being a no go area. :D

Yes, I think that is what they’re saying about shop locations.
