I hate when websites change for no reason. The web browser version of Google Maps has changed and I hate it. It wasn’t broken.
Same as the right click context menu on chrome; now puts "open in .............

Just gone to repeat it and looks like they've back the change out lol!

That time of year :( just removed 3 large spiders from the house :( now I'm keeping an eye out for them everywhere.
Oh we're a week or more into "Check the ceilings and walls before bed". I did 6 or 7 in one day at the weekend.

This house seems to have one type of spider right now, the sort that likes to drop on a strand of web and try to escape you as soon as you touch it. I've had them coming back in the window hanging on a thread attached to the glass and all sorts. Full paranoid mode already but then I had one on my leg yesterday!

And feel the web on my arm hair/face every time I walk through the house in the morning :(

******* virtual machines...

45 minutes of my morning spent trying to get the stupid heap of **** to communicate with a flow meter.

5 min job on my non cyber security approved laptop..

Cyber security creating new and inventive ways to **** off staff and prevent work from being done.

Just did 3-4h studying om RAAC panels this evening on the ferry to France for a long weekend. I'm practically up to speed on the theory now, what to look out for, and how to assess the risk.

Last week was quiet but since Friday, we (firm of structural engineers) are getting an increasing number of enquries from building/estate owners (mostly existing clients with large building stock) worried about RAAC in their buildings.

We're already busy but the amount of work potentially arising out of this is astronomical. Some asset managers will be sweating for a while to come; not gonna be a cheap and quick process for them.

Not sure when I'll be doing my first survey personally but likely October with my current workload. I'm not confident yet on making such safety-critical recommendations, and taking liability for them, so one to discuss with the directors next week when I'm back.

3!

I live in a 300 year old thatched house. We have about three thousand!

I'm surprised it is only 3 so far - I live in the countryside and the garden is full of them and every window has a dozen (smaller ones) snuck into the corners outside.

The recent rain and now hot sun has brought a huge expansion in creepy crawlies in my house.

The garden is full of insects. I saw a big hawker dragonfly, dor beetle and a hornet mimic hoverfly yesterday and wasn't particularly looking.

Just explained to my daughters that daddy long-legs (crane flies) cannot sting, before some idiot tells them thet do in school.

The spiders continue to invade. I think they must be prolific outside the house and just wander in the windows. Last night we cleared the bedroom, brushed my teeth, then went back in and had a massive one on the wall. Struggled to get to sleep after that.

Then this morning I was stood bleary eyed in the kitchen and turned around to see one hanging at face height in front of me. Bah!

Our garden is full of spiders. we had 10 just over night having made their web across the garden. i swear these spiders are trying to catch us humans. had my kids gone outside then yeah spider face for sure. was the right height as well.

I had 3 spiders above kitchen cabinets where I couldn't reach. Checked later and they'd all disappeared. Found one on the ceiling so he got a date with the vacuum cleaner. Not sure where the others are but I'm now also checking my straighteners and heat pad each time after having one crawl out from there *shudder*
Been finding the little baby spiders suddenly appearing on a web in the bathroom but I just leave them be. When they built my place they put bushes outside the bedroom and living room window so that doesn't help and also attracts the wasps and bees where the gardeners don't bother to do any pruning. (Not mine, it's a shared ownership property)

..

Currently sat in hairdressers finally having my hair done since Feb. Been nervous/excited for today. Excited to finally get it done but nervous at how my back would handle sitting for so long. Touch wood it's been ok so far and they're aware I might have to keep shifting in my seat :)

There is a special place in hell reserved for those who use merged fields in Excel.

Just helped my wife set up a pivot table, and was very frustrated, yet again, by idiocy.
I have no idea how to use Excel properly. I do have an Excel 2019 book but I'm not sure how much has changed since then.

I'm a Microsoft 365 Business Premium subscriber.

Haven't heard them in a year or two but an owl somewhere around the last couple of days and tonight it is going nuts for some reason every time a lorry passes by.
