Sat relaxing on the sofa after a weekend of friends visiting. Yesterday we went to a local museum and wandered about town showing them around. I think we're going to use guests as an excuse to check out all the local history and attractions as we're new to the town :)

@Feek How's this for a radio shack? At the Panacea Museum in Bedford.

So yesterday I kinda got engaged in the Blue Mountains in Sydney, Australia at Honeymoon Bridge. ☺
After visiting Auckland and Hobbiton in a new Zealand and relatives with horses and carts used in LOTR last week. Then visited Franz Josef on South Island and Christchurch for a few days....
Currently sat in bed in Sydney about to get up. ☺
Went whale watching today and saw a mum and pup breaching and playing. ☺
Then onto Brisbane and Cairns....

Perhaps they're unable to drive themselves and Saturday mornings are the only time they can go. maybe they need a carer to go with them. Or maybe they've forgotten a few things and had to pop out.

My mum is way past retirement age but still works at 3am in the morning, helps my brother do the school run morning and afternoon then heads out to work again at 4.30pm getting home around 7.00pm. So when should she shop? I for one would rather she shops on a Saturday morning then go to the supermarket in the evening time especially now that the evenings are getting darker much earlier.

I would actually say Sundays are the busiest time to shop based on my usual store, hence why I do try and avoid it wherever possible but if for whatever reason I have to go out I aim to get there for when they open.
It’s the same retired people that come in Saturdays and moan about how busy it is. You decided when to shop, not us.

Only about ten elderly customers shop with their working aged child. I’ll accept these.

Our main busy times is 10-12:30. Going at 7am on Saturday your mum will be ok.

It’s the stubborn refuse to change retired customers on Saturday mornings that annoy everybody.

One customer whose neighbour is 87 years old. She bumped into her on the way ou, a few Saturdays ago. Asked her how is she “just bought my newspaper and lottery tickets and it’s so busy”. The customer says at the bottom of their road is a Co-op and sell papers and lottery tickets. WTF can’t she buy the paper and lottery at the Co-op?

I can't pace myself for toffee - if I have a drink in my hand, I drink it! I even glug my tea down in 1-2 goes once it's cool enough.

TBH I've never found any drink that lets me make it through a long session unscathed, besides alternating alcohol free beer. Or, have just one drink at the start/alcohol free for the first few. It takes discipline as you have to keep reminding people what drink you want next :p

Yep, i failed miserably and am still paying for it today, first few beers around 6.5-7% Just can't help myself! Had good intentions of getting the last bus home around 11:30, however 3 minutes to the train station i circled back to the bar and aimed for the 1:30 nightbus instead. That took it to around 12hrs drinking

Yesterday was not a good day.

Absolutely sounds like me on a night out. I've learned to pace myself since covid/WFH meant my tolerance dropped. No regular drinking!

I had leaving drinks in May and I managed to have about 4 no/low alcohol beers before I broke. Then I had a 10.6% imperial stout which they only sold as ⅔ pint. Still felt rough after I think 2 drinks that night!

This weekend I had a 5% stout from the Morrisons selection as we had guests, then opened some bubbly to celebrate. Luckily everyone was pretty tired and chilled out before bed, because I was just about to start digging more drinks out of the cupboard.

Pah, weak!

Thursday night was around 3am.

I was out until 5am on Friday after a long and steep bike ride. We ended up in somewhere called ""El Club" in Girona as everywhere else was shut. As we arrived, a bouncer was literally throwing someone out by his neck. It wasn't the best place.

Saturday was around 4am. Sat by the harbour in portbou, drinking cans as everywhere shuts early.

Last night went easy and back around 2am.

I am looking forward to getting home, I need s rest.

Portbou is lovely. It reminded me of holidays as a kid:

Thought I’d give MyFitnessPal another go as it’s been a while, then noticed they want £192 a year if you pay monthly or £65 in one go, when did it become so expensive?

Doesn’t mention if it’s a limited time offer or if it’s always available but I don’t need to track my calories that consistently that I’m happy paying that for an app.
Premium isn't needed for simple tracking. Annoyingly, the barcode scanner is locked behind the pay wall, but overall, I find that the free version is generally usable.

I tried the barcode scanner and it worked fine, I’m guessing there’s a number of times you can scan on the free version before it’ll lock?

First day back at work for a week. Let myself have a lie in and decided to drive to work instead of walking. Went to get in the car at 8.45 and it's dead. Like totally dead, no electrics at all, central locking etc.

Battery reads 1.4V :( Guess I'll be joining my morning meeting from home then walking in after all!

I've paid for the year, purely on the basis that if i've paid that much, i'll want to get value out of it and it'll motivate me to accurately track my intake and remain accountable.
