Got an unnoficial leaving do tomorrow with mates etc. My wife doesn't do "fuss", so didn't want a leaving party.

Meeting up around 1pm in Manchester. Feels like ages since i've spent a good solid day drinking. Had half debated driving the van into Manchester and then sleeping in the back, but decided to just aim for the last train around half 11 (possibility of night bus at half 1)

Last few times i've drank a lot of beer i've got really bloated so could do with finding a new drink! My usual backup is red wine, but that could get lethal!

Vodka?

Perhaps. My main issue is i like to constantly have something in my hand a drink, so something like a short would go in about 2 sips and then i'd just want to keep buying another. Pints work for me as it takes a while to drink them.

My other main issue is my preference is always towards the 7-8% double IPAs which are lethal on a ~10 hour day out. It's no wonder i'm always a mess :p

I can't pace myself for toffee - if I have a drink in my hand, I drink it! I even glug my tea down in 1-2 goes once it's cool enough.

TBH I've never found any drink that lets me make it through a long session unscathed, besides alternating alcohol free beer. Or, have just one drink at the start/alcohol free for the first few. It takes discipline as you have to keep reminding people what drink you want next :P

So I wanted a copy of Starfield but didn't want to pay the high price for it I also wanted a new AM5 cpu so thought theres a promotion on so buy that get a free code for Starfield. Great. Except I didn't realise you need to validate the hardware via a software tool and if the cpu is sitting in a box in the corner thats not going to work... didn't want to buy new mobo/ram just yet just wanted the code but had no choice so spent the best part of a day in the broiling heat pulling out and replacing motherboard, ram, cpu trying to place teeny tiny screws into very tight corners in a tight case with my fat fingers. Or maybe its an age thing but its incredibly fliddly. Managed to mangle the USB 3.0 header pins on the motherboard so had to pull it out again to straighten up all the tiny pins again incredibly fiddly. Finally got it assembled then just had to reactivate windows install chipset drivers etc etc oh boy. Then finally jump through umpteen hoops to activate the game via steam.

All to avoid paying out for a single game.

This weekend I took my old (3yrs) Sony 49” LED TV to upgrade my moms TV and in turn her old 50” Panasonic plasma went to her neighbour who in his 80’s was overwhelmed by it as it replaced an old small Tv. I felt like i’d actually done something to make someones life better

Retired people shouldn’t be allowed to shop on Saturday mornings. As said by myself, my colleagues and working aged customers.

My parents are retired and wouldn’t dream of shopping during the busiest time of the week. They are sensible.
Perhaps they're unable to drive themselves and Saturday mornings are the only time they can go. maybe they need a carer to go with them. Or maybe they've forgotten a few things and had to pop out.

My mum is way past retirement age but still works at 3am in the morning, helps my brother do the school run morning and afternoon then heads out to work again at 4.30pm getting home around 7.00pm. So when should she shop? I for one would rather she shops on a Saturday morning then go to the supermarket in the evening time especially now that the evenings are getting darker much earlier.

I would actually say Sundays are the busiest time to shop based on my usual store, hence why I do try and avoid it wherever possible but if for whatever reason I have to go out I aim to get there for when they open.
