My neighbour below me moved out in the middle of the night. Don't worry, she had her flat on the market and was sold. My wheelie bin is full of her stuff - never was asked to use my bin. Just enough room for another bag of my rubbish in there. She left the spare keys in the communal hallway we share. It was 7:30am so had a cheeky look inside before the new neighbours move in, probably this weekend.

The new neighbour(s) have to vacuum the floors as in a state. I always have vacuumed the floors when I have moved out in previous properties.
wtf

The keyboard on our laptop is borked and spams random keypresses by itself. Took the back off it, hoping I could unplug the keyboard or fix it or something, couldn't see any obvious way to get further into and gave up. Put the back on again. Lost a screw.
Are you some kind of jack of all trades, master of none?

Last night's halloween call of cthulhu session.

I will put in spoilers.. Open at your own risk.

I hate not having physical back and so on buttons on a phone, doing away with them a daft decision IMO, though not perfect it is useless without them at moments like I just had where a Google pop-up for some reason had a problem and just left me with a white screen saying "Can't load this page" and no navigation controls and no amount of gestures, etc. would close it... fortunately didn't have to force restart the phone as turning the screen off and back on again so the login appeared enabled me to get back out of it...

I really don't know what goes through developer's minds these days, probably nothing, such poor accounting for continence situations never leads to anything good even if those situations are for the most part edge cases (until they aren't).

I also scoffed at lack of buttons when they removed them, but I've legit not even noticed for the last 4 years its missing. Never had an issue. I do wonder how old folk cope though.

The vast majority of the time it doesn't cause an issue, but I've had a small number of times when it has been a problem, usually like then when something didn't go right for whatever reason.

EDIT: There is also software which doesn't obey them, especially some of the trashy apps some companies put out like insurance or phone networks, etc., which generally I avoid but sometimes there is a reason to use them. The old physical buttons used to override that behaviour but for some reason the soft ones don't.

Christmas isn't a big deal with my family but I get anxiety every year because of people being hard to get for. I have actually very nearly finished! Will get that **** wrapped as soon as it comes (hate it) and then I can just store away and actually enjoy my time off in December.
