Main produce colleague will be off work for til mid Jan at earliest after breaking ankle in three places (outside work). As I’m one of the few colleagues to lift and carry 23kg crates. I’m probably going to be the one on produce a few days before Christmas. Put out 4 crates of carrots and turn round and all gone!

Don’t mind it as earlier starts/finishes

Gutted they stopped us doing this during the pandemic. Not as exciting as you but it used to cover my car insurance lol.

During the pandemic was the only time we could sell holiday where I work, they stopped it again this year. Which kind of sucks as I've still got a day short of 2 weeks holiday in hand after booking everything I want/need.

See, i just never use all my entitlement and it's always a rush to take days towards the end of the year. Especially with WFH where it's easy to just nip out for appointments etc. I'd rather get cash than take days off for the sake of it
I can relate to that, I work for a consulting company and due to being parachuted in to help a client this year, I've not used any of my leave.
Was planing to take from end of Nov off, but my new client needs urgent help too. So now carrying over 5 days.

IIRC, the company has a legal duty to allow you to take your allotted holiday or compensate you for unused holiday.
One company I worked at could rollover up to 1 weeks holiday into the next year providing it is used in April.

Hardly anyone was in at work in April. My team had 25-30 and during some days in April - 5 were in!

I can still book more holiday in - but I've already had and have planned a load of time off, we get a fairly generous holiday allowance, and it would have been handy to be able to sell the rest.

We can't sell holiday or carry it over. We don't get paid for overtime but can take it as time off in lieu (with restrictions to what you can claim, what you can accrue in a 4 week period and how you can take time off)
My boss has been really good though. I've been exceeding the max no. Of hours due to how busy we are and technically they should get wiped but he offered to pay me so I've had an extra chunk of money coming in to help with the increased mortgage payments :)
when I took a week off in Aug I still logged on every morning to complete a quick 10 min task as colleague didn't have access so boss gave me 2 days holiday back.
...

TIAM I'm trying to decide whether to take a little trip next weekend to check out possible areas to move to. Was thinking of taking my niece as she's getting upset at the thought of me moving away but I need to find out if my mum can feed the cats for me :o she's been really negative about it all which is one of the reasons I don't want to take my mum to check out places.
In other news I finally had physio at the hospital on Monday after waiting 2 months. They did all the checks and couldn't find a movement/pressure point that triggered my pain or made it worse. They were happy with my reflexes which matched equally both sides. They reckon it probably was caused by the gym trying to push me onto heavy weights that my body wasn't ready for and that the nerve has been aggravated. Nerves can take months/years to heal but I appear to be heading in the right direction and I can go back to exercising just need to really listen to my body and not overdo it too soon. They did offer for me to go have a session in their "gym" but I'd feel more comfortable at home. My file is kept open for a year though in case anything does flare up and I need to go back :)
Now I just need to sort the rest of my life out :o
I'm sure that was really uninteresting but I'm feeling a bit upset tonight and getting thoughts out my head helps a little lol

Off work til Tuesday, whoop!

Hoping builders turn up tomorrow to get started on my garage conversion, and I'll be heading to the dump, the scrap dealer and moving some furniture out of the garage. This weekend is a wedding in London and we'll be collecting a cat Sunday!
