This Instant And Moment - 2025!

Didn't want to cook tonight. And I just got shouted a kg of bbq pork ribs with chips. I 'forced' myself to scoff the lot.

Meanwhile I have a gaggle of 20-somethings visiting having a "Galantines" day celebration.

Going to have to risk going up to the local plague pit as my younger sister is has been admitted with flu and pneumonia. She suffers Asthma flair ups when ill and they won't even give her an i haler or nebuliser. Also the cleaning is not up to scratch and the bathroom is coated in feaces.

She was feeling better before she had to spend a night on the ward and is mos struggling. No staff wearing masks and she is worried about spreading the flu. They put her on the gastro ward too, so I am guessing beds on respiratory are full.

Normally I have to avoid sick family and friends, especially respiratory stuff, as my son is very vulnerable but I can't leave her in that state :( .

I'd phone up and ask to speak to the Ward Manager and ensure that you ask for the escalation process around PALS if you think clinical needs aren't being met.

Get out there and do some BBQing now.
Can confirm fire helps, I let a friend rope me into helping at his allotment today. Really that meant, beer and pizza then sleep on his couch, get up 9am and do an easy 4 hours cutting branches with a baby chainsaw on a stick. Plus barbecue.

On the train home for pub quiz smelling of smoke

Hopefully they will get things together a bit more. Looks like it was a rushed transfer from AMU. Things had been cleaned a bit more when I got there but some missed areas that I raised. A doctor did get a nebuliser sorted as we got there.

Ward Manager wasn't on the ward in the window I was there. Clarified what the plan was and confirmed she is getting Tamiflu, as well as antibiotics, but a dose was missed during transfer. Got a leaflet for the complaints procedure if we need to escalate.

My sister looks rough and is very tired and was a bit overwhelmed with the lack of clarity but was happy we got some clear answers. She is usually the one to fight her corner and everyone elses, so isn't used to feeling so wrecked she can barely function.

Had a health check. BMI good, blood pressure good, cholesterol, the bad kind I am under 5.0 which is good, but the good stuff is slightly under 1. Overall not bad, just need to eat more avocados.
