this is shocking

Bit of a biased review from Tom ( old hands here wont be surprised though) but still interesting reading

It is very frustrating that Intelproduce such reasonable cpu's but for a decent mombo they charge the earth... it really does make me think why make the cpu so cheap, he end result is still the same.

How will the conroe compare to these 805's at 4gig for playing games? It's supposed to be out in the next couple of months so wouldn't it be better to wait for them? Bearing in mind I havn't upgraded since the amd mobile 2.4gig+ first became popular, I can wait a little longer if the conroe is going to be like a 20%+ improvement over the current pentium (assuming they'll be good bang/buck).

Conroe should be a great improvement over any of the CPUs out at the moment. Its not going to be in the same price range as this chip however.

Asus P5P800 (around 40 quid) supports this CPU, DDR and AGP too, good for a cheap upgrade, fairly good clocker too. A mate has an 805 at 3.6 on one of these, he's not really into overclocking, so guess it would go higher.
