One thing that is often overlooked about Islam is its unique animal rights concept - a strict set of guideline by which animals can be 'legally' treated. Other religions have more elastic concepts of respect, but I believe Islam enshrines animal rights in a more concrete fashion.
This is an example of why I believe that the Halal method of meat preparation may have been very relevent and very decent idea at the conception of Islam, but again the world has moved on and Islamic methods of slaughter have failed to move with it.

Tbh, I find newport home to a lot of Chavs, seems more so than Cardiff.

At the inception of Islam there was no other method of slaughtering animals than cutting the throat.
The Islamic weapons of choice (the AK47 and a stash of C4) weren't around at the time
