"This is the Bugatti Veyron of gaming systems"

Actually, I was going on Honda's pricing down here of £90 an hour. Audi aren't that much more expensive either ;)

As for the time to install a dvdrw drive - You're having a laugh right? Two minutes or less and its done. They hardly need testing either.

There is no additional time required to supply recovery media either.

The servicing of a Honda has little to no relation to the building of a bespoke high-end gaming system, but as you asked... A 'full comprehensive service' of my A3 I was quoted at £415. I would imagine much of that is taken up by overly-expensive filters and oils (they don't call main-dealerships 'stealers' for nothing)... It's also hardly going to take them a couple of days to do it. I certainly wouldn't imagine them 'stress testing' the vehicle for 100 miles.

What you seem to be forgetting (and you totally missed my point), this is a premium system and you can have any 'extras' you choose.

If I go to a garage and say "I have no limit to my budget, I want the best car I can buy for evening and weekend runabouts, performance is key" they are hardly going to sell me a 'basic' model with all the extras are they? They'll expect to sell me a top of the range model and let me choose which of the extras I think I require (obviously hoping I go for lots of them as the extras is where they make some real money). :D

They also wouldn't charge you extra in essence for the OBD port so you could have a software upgrade should there be one.

I can't believe people on this thread are complaining about the mark up OcUK are putting on these systems. People aren't moaning at ford for a 50% mark up on a Fiesta are they?

I wonder how much it would cost to buy each part of a Fiesta individually from Ford and build it yourself...

Eeek why so defensive?

Those few things are a couple of quid, but what about the other gear required to be totally disc-less it all adds up hence why I said "rich"

Games are hobbies but flashing cash isn't, I was just saying there is no need for all that gear but people will buy it, everyone here would have it if money was not an issue I know I would ;)

Didn't mean to come off like that - just baffles me how much people moan about not having a DVD drive.. Before working at OcUK, I hadn't used one for about 4 years. And even then it was an external drive.

Back in the day Vadim used to build some truly beautiful systems for this kind of money. If spending this amount of money would be expecting high-end aluminium lian li or similar cases, with full custom WC and aesthetics to match.

Here's one I made earlier.

I don't think people realise how much goes into the system process. From reading this thread, it appears that some people think that we just whack some parts together and send it to the customer. In short, in a slang about way, that is what we do. We build and ship systems.

However, there is so so so much more that goes into this, actually there is probably more effort into before actually assembling these systems! And that is saying something, as these systems are built by a great technical team, and I will be honest, from working at Overclockers UK for many years, we have a really strong, knowledgeable, and I am not sure if this is the right word to be using, but our technical team are extremely talented.

You pay for service, and I can guarantee you that the service you get with our systems is probably the best you will ever get. - I maybe a bit bias as I work for Overclockers UK, but for those who know me will know the efforts, and support I like to give to our customers, and I know that every single system that is assembled is built with the same, if not the most effort possible, and the support given is fantastic as well.

These systems sell, and there is a reason for it. Because we are number one when it comes to enthusiast hardware, gaming, and systems.

You sir, have always been fantastic. And customer service has certainly improved a lot. I haven't had to return anything in recent times so can't comment on that, but I assume that is better too.

That's a bold claim, and I always wonder when claims like this are made - can you back it up?

Man Hug <3

Your new shop looks something special!

I can vouch for what 5UB says with respects of the service given at ocuk. Whenever there is a problem, I post up and 5UB is the first person to respond usually and my issue is usually resolved within the day! Can't ask for more than that.

Well, according to one of your colleagues, like the song, we are only the one in ten! :p;)

Vouch for 5ub? Me? Not a chance!

Its not like I message him on Facebook, whilst he's not even at work and he will still try his best to help me out now is it?

Oh, wait, he does it every time I have a problem.

5UB is a god amongst men, in fact, so far I've not met anyone from OcUK that I don't like, and Ive met a fair few!

5UB and OcUK as a whole are great, they were incredibly helpful last summer when I was in the process of deciding on my new build - fantastic service, and that's why I will continue to shop here for my components :)

Also Haribo.

And free delivery! ;)

The community here, the loyalty shown by OCUK to their customers (members market, forum only specials etc etc) means OCUK will always be my first port of call.
