This looks AWESOME

One thing all have missed here I think is joypads are just no use to some people. My thumbs are virtually paralysed, I love fps games cant play on the 360 though and gave up on the xbox after the smartjoy thing turned out to be a total disaster. M$ dont give a hoot been talking to them for about 4 years about supporting a controller that people with any kind of disability that led to poor coordination might be able to use. They dont even have a policy to deal with questions from any users that may have a disability, and for the record niether do the other console players. Maybe not kb+m, maybe not the way nintendo have done things but sooner or later the twin sticks needs a rival that people who just cant use the twin sticks can pick up and play with. Bad marketing I think, disabled people spend more time than the average person playing computer and console games as they are more accessable than other things such as sports.

On the other hand it would be great to go against 360 players via my pc, and a special treat to bump heads with those loud mouths I see all over the net saying pads own kb+m. Myself I think if your good with pad or mouse the match will be pretty much even, until you get clan members fraggin ** butt but then again its never really come to that yet be good to watch though, and shut some people up when they realise just how it turned out.

what's going to happen then when MS introduce cross-platform multiplayer games? if KB and mouse unbalance the FPS so much surely the concept is flawed as there will theoretically never be an equal game of 360 vs pc?

Its a big worry of mine and i cant believe that its not right in Microsofts face. If it doesnt work out, which i cant see it will, then Microsoft should be forced to remove the interopability and let consolers play consolers and pcers play pcers.

Im sure they wont do this though, they will rather implement new search systems so you can filter out PC players and communities will be divided in two.

As long as i have the choice to play against pads only then im fine with it.

There was a big story about Shadowrun on one of the gamesites about how they were going to address the problem of Mouse v Gamepad. Basically they said they had managed to even it out to be near enough level in terms of when they tested it.

(They had testers using the mouse and testers using a Gamepad and tweaked the game to level it out)

This is the beauty of it, anyone could have one and we wouldn't know. You would just get people who are crap at games throwing wild accusations at peopel who are better than them.

I have this DOA4 joystick, I used to use it at SF2 on Arcade, a couple of people refused to play me cos they thought I had an unfair advantage. The only advantage I had was more money and inclination than them to get a better controller for a specific type of game. I don't really see how this is any different.

Contrary to what people say in this thread Consoles are not really an even playing field. There have always been 3rd party controllers that give some sort of advantage. Be it Joysticks, Light guns, controllers with turbo fire etc. Whether the game was designed for them or not is highly irrelevant.
These games haven't always been online though. I tried a DoA4 arcade stick and dragon punches were silly easy with it. This made playing you online dull knowing that a controller can make such a huge difference. It's the same with a KB/M.

Ouch, pretty much how I expected it to turn out since with the analog sticks snapping to centre vs a free gliding mouse.

Ace :D

That's the end of that then :)
