This looks AWESOME

^^Exactly how I feel.

Pads are for me with platformers, sports games etc. Just shooting games I need that little bit more response to make it an enjoyable experience. It's all personal at the end of the day, and atm consoles look very attractive to me due to the games and price, it's just the lack of versatility in the control methods that just kill it for myself.

well if K/M is used it should be purely for Single Player only, i don't mind people having a choice in what they use if it don't effect others, but for LIVE then there has to be restrictions on this otherwise whats the point

No advantage is gained through using a steering wheel tho.

The simple fact is a K/M is more accurate than a pad. Doesn't mean that everyone who uses a pad will automatically beat anyone using a pad, but it does give them an advantage none the less.

Now you see that's wrong, your basically saying "Ha screw you, pad was here first, so get lost" I think we should wait to see how good this thing really is first before we start saying that we should be splitting gamers apart from what control method they choose to use.

If it's using the same programming then it shouldn't be really any more advantagous than the control pad, just more comfortable and pleasant to use for people like myself.

I guess it's the people who don't have the skill that have to fall back on easier controls

What the hell? I can play on pads, I can play well with them aswell. I just don't enjoy using them.

So because I don't like using them I therefore have no skill? Don't make me laugh, and stop trolling.

No he can't, he said he needed pad therapy earlier on, I offered my help but still has'nt got back to me ;) :p

Well, if I took up your offer it would cost me a fortune to get over my inability to not get frustrated with using one. So at £20 an hour it's pretty steep, what about 20p an hour?

Exactly, apples and oranges. Using a mouse and keyboard over Live will offer such a huge advantage, a steering wheel wouldn't.

Perhaps cheating was a bit harsh - it's more like going to a bowling competition and having the bouncy kiddy barriers to stop your balls going down the gutter while everyone else is playing normally.

Who really cares if it's cheating or not, it's certainly very, very lame.

thats a very narrow minded thing to say just because some people would like to use a k/m for gaming it instantly becomes lame dont give me this crap, and tbh am getting sick of this crap that if u use a k/m your either lame or cheating it is each to his own i say and if you dont agree then thats your choice but there is no need to slate people who would like to use them just because u think its cheating or lame

Bad, bad bad. The games are designed to be played with pads; not gonna list the ways how, I'm sure everyone is aware. Playing a game with a keyboard and mouse that isn't designed for it never feels right - and this is coming from a die hard Q3A/Q3RA player who'd spent a tonne on a mouse/mouse mat without blinking.

For single player, ok, if you must - some people just don't want to adapt to a different playing field. For multiplayer, this is always horrible because not only do you have the keyboard and mouse, but you have all the aids that are given to pad users - such as the *tiny* bit of aim assistance you get, which is just far too powerful when used with a mouse.

For these reasons, Hope MS stays on top of it with updates and stops it working asap. The level playing field is half the appeal of a console, it's nice to avoid the pc arms race every now and then :)

If you played a fps (or any other game that is much easier with a m&k) over Live using one of these it certainly is cheating, no question. As for single player - use a m&k if you like, just know that you've beaten a game balanced for a joypad and have basically cycled your way through with stabalisers on. Satisfying ;)

Spot on. Using some 3rd party kb/m control system on a console fps game thats balanced for a controller is nothing more than exploiting. Think otherwise and your just kidding yourself. If you wanna use kb/m for fps use your pc.

Have you ever tried self centering a mouse? Looks to me the fundamental flaw of this thing is it seems to simply map the joypad "freelook" motion to the mouse. Unlucky then that the average mouse doesn't have any kind of spring return to a dead centre. You will probably end up having to thrash your wrist about and then try to return it to an imaginery centre to stop the screen moving. Funny how the video seems to show him standing stationary on a tank, and therefore not moving and looking at the same time. If if this an official promo video I think the've made a complete balls cos anyone with any sense will see the limitations of this. In my opinion a joypad player would completely own a m+kb player is this form. It would be more useful for allowing you to use ps2 pads on the 360 for the superior d-pad buttons, but even then, I bet you a pound to a penny they have got the shoulder buttuns the wrong way round like all known ps2 pad-xbox convertors.

Stinks of double standards this nobody complains when someone in PG3 uses a wheel and has an advantage just because it is made by microsoft people turn a blind eye to that

I have heard microsoft are working on a new pad that is more fps shooter freindly if this aprears will people still shout not fair or will it be acceptable
because it is microsoft

Find me a FPS that will look decent on a £350 Acer laptop and I will :p

Why is this such a big deal?! The Dreamcast had an official keyboard and mouse. You could use a Keyboard and mouse on the PS2, both of these had online play.

It seems that some people take 'games' way too seriously.
