This years Amazon Prime Sale.

didn't find anything to actually want to spend money on this time round...

total haul this time round was a blink doorbell, echo pop and a echo show 5 for my new home
and a thermalright cpu cooler

The consumer disagrees it would seem.

Not this one, I'll use eBay for little bits, then anything larger or more expensive I'll go to a UK retailer, like OCUK for example, or I'll use John Lewis for white goods or jewellery. Pro Cook are good for kitchen wear, mountain warehouse etc etc....

I agree though, seems the masses do disagree, but it'll screw us in the long run.

Usual rubbish again then, everything I looked at was either the same price elsewhere or there was only a couple of pounds difference

There were a few things that were decently priced. But yeah most Prime Deal Prices were very similar to prices the items had been in my history.

I bought an 8TB HDD for £95 which was a decent price, but nothing in my saved items became worth buying

I got a few random bits and bobs, although infuriatingly I specifically chose Friday for delivery as I'm working at the office today. Just got an alert that my items are now out for delivery  I don't like annoying the neighbours with my packages...It's with Royal Mail, which is a rarity. They normally leave packages in my empty blue bin, which I never ask for, but I guess I'll see what they do when I get home.

Bought an MSI 6650XT - was £10 cheaper than normal (and cheapest it had been according to Camelcamelcamel), and had a £15 voucher from using the Prime Photos app and uploading a photo - so saved £25.

By the time I've sold my existing graphics card (1650) then it'll be a reasonably priced upgrade.

High streets destroyed themself with
Poor prices
Poor range of products/choice
Closing stores in high foot traffic locations to instead open stores on business parks..
If they sell the item you want there's a good chance it's not in stock anyway....

The people making the decisions on store locations are clearly people who don't use stores like a normal person...

Imagine expecting everyone to travel 3-5+ miles to some business park on the edge of a city....

oh look a supermarket, Pet world, Currys and a halfords.... maybe a starbucks and a mcdonalds what a massive draw to get in the shoppers

Why wouldn't people just buy from amazon, no doubt cheaper, more convenient and a wide range of brands
That's the thing though - now they've wiped out most of the competition they are in no way "cheaper"- they just rely on the average person to believe they are cheaper based on the good old days of Amazon being the cheapest and most convenient.
Last 4 online purchases I've made could have been bought from Amazon but where cheaper elsewhere.

I bought some Bose QC45 headphones, replacing my 4-5 year old pair of an earlier model. These were £180ish, which I think is as cheap as they have ever been but they have seemingly dropped to that price everywhere now.

I didn’t really shop round. The last time I was in the market for a paid, the Bose were by far, far, far the comfiest - mostly because I have ‘larger ears’ ( :o ) that get very hot with the smaller ear cups of the Sony models. It doesn’t matter if they sound great if they cause discomfort!

They’re as expected comfort wise, but quite bright on the treble out of the box, so much so that I’ve had to use the EQ app to turn the treble down to avoid fatigue. I noticed this right away out of the box and some reviews seem to point this out this too. It’s the sort of thing that can sound amazing for a short period, but actually hurt your ears after a while.

I could make a hoohah out of this but it’s a non-point now they have been EQ’ed.
