This years Amazon Prime Sale.

Having bought a base 64gb Steam Deck in the Steam sale a week or so ago, and vowing the base model would be enough for me, I have of course absolutely gone metal on Prime buying all sorts of bits and bobs for it. SSD, SD, dock, 10keyless KB, charger, various cables and adaptors. Did consider an extra mouse but I can make do with my current wireless mouse I use on my laptop. Oh and a 4k max firestick. This months CC bill is going to be interesting, what will al the games I bought in the Steam sale as well.

Bought a Noco car starter to replace the giant and heavy Halfords one I bought about 15 years ago. Mainly to drive my electric trailer mover thing, but does get used as a mobile charger and actual flat battery car starter every now and again. CamelCamelCamel suggested the price was pretty good so went ahead.

I spent the grand total of £7ish on some USB-C to Micro USB cables.

Was going to grab another 4tb Iron Wolf HDD for my media server, but after going to a nice £72 last week thought I'd wait to see what deal they had on the Prime Day... £77. Nah.

I bought some Bose QC45 headphones, replacing my 4-5 year old pair of an earlier model. These were £180ish, which I think is as cheap as they have ever been but they have seemingly dropped to that price everywhere now.

I didn’t really shop round. The last time I was in the market for a paid, the Bose were by far, far, far the comfiest - mostly because I have ‘larger ears’ ( :o ) that get very hot with the smaller ear cups of the Sony models. It doesn’t matter if they sound great if they cause discomfort!

They’re as expected comfort wise, but quite bright on the treble out of the box, so much so that I’ve had to use the EQ app to turn the treble down to avoid fatigue. I noticed this right away out of the box and some reviews seem to point this out this too. It’s the sort of thing that can sound amazing for a short period, but actually hurt your ears after a while.

I could make a hoohah out of this but it’s a non-point now they have been EQ’ed.

Turns out I couldn't get on with these because they were hurting my ears. Sending them back!
