Radiator needed replacing!

http://www.vxronline.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?83843-Got-my-car-back-yesterday!&highlight=radiator

The garage said this was probably why the car failed in the first place.

Whilst TMS has posted 0 information and has arguably demonstrateably lied about certain things, that forum thread hardly shows a damn thing.

What are you trying to say, turns out you needed a new radiotor and thats what caused all the water to disapear? Whats that got to do with you running the car with the warning lights on as claimed

It's a shame it isn't all recorded on the ECU or something, I guess we will never know.

The posted the links to re-highlight my side of the story.

Yes, its a shame none of this sort of stuff was recorded (I did actually question VXl about that). Oh well

Nearly all modern ECU's DO have that function. "Miles driven with MIL active"

There was I thinking I had misunderestimated you, and then you come up with that! Top tier, you are not.

Thanks for pointing out a spelling error, it was probably because it was posted from my iPhone. Lucky for me its not you who gets to decide who is in the top tier, and I have been deemed in it as well as part of the elite crew, and you have been noticeably left out and have in fact been relegated to scrub tier crew last time I checked.

Should be fairly easy to sort out then without all the drama of he said she siad, wonder why they didn't just do that?

my 1.8t golf has been odd for at least the last 6-8 weeks.

weve got into a habit of putting £25 in the tank when the light came on, been doing that for a few years now, after a while you get used to the car doing X miles between fill ups.

the 1.8t would do at least 120-125 miles

for at least the last 6 weeks it was only doing 95-105

it had had a fair bit of service work around that time, so i wasnt sure what to blame it on, but more recently the engine became very unresponsive off boost.

id been out and monitored all feedback from the ecu, only thing worth noticing was actual boost being far behind requested boost below 1900rpm (but nothing hugely unusual)

i spent an hour looking for air leaks, nothing. i was even thinking about doing an oil change in case the oil was too thick and causing the turbo to lag!!

was out lastnight, i had decided to change from the usual tesco 99 momentum stuff and went to the nearest shell.

on the way to work today, the car has got all of its mojo back. below 2krpm it feels normal and once it starts to boost its instant go, rather lingering into boost

give it a few days and the refill light will be on again, if its back to 120-125 then its definately a fuel issue
