Thoughts on my suit - Got the biggest interview tomorrow

It's hard to tell what the suit looks like unless it is being worn although if it has been tailored it should look the part on you. You need to iron the collar of the shirt and for the love of god don't do what every youngster nowadays does and tie a big fat, loose knot in the tie. When buttoned up that collar looks to be fairly classic in cut so a standard four in hand knot should look the part. A half windsor would also look good.

I'm not fond of the tie. It doesn't look awful, it's just not to my tastes. The shoes are especially brutal though. They look like a pair of those old people shoes you see in the catalogues you get in the Sunday Mail.

With suit shoes, a classic Oxford, Gibson or semi brogue is the best bet. You really can't go wrong with any of them. Can you bring those monstrosities back and get them swapped out?

That shirt collar is not cut to suit the Windsor knot and the knot will look extremely bunched or fat. A half Windsor will be far better suited and is equally smart and 'impressive' (not sure what this is supposed to mean, they're just different variants of the same principle but meh ...)

The most important part is that you think the suit looks great; this will make you feel really comfortable and this will show in how you carry yourself and the way the interview then proceeds.

Good luck.

Agreed. A Windsor knot is more suited to a cutaway collar. It will look out of place on a classic collar and may be uncomfortable as the knot will sit underneath the collar.

You need to change the Tie & most of all tie it in a Windsor knot. The knot you have there is ghastly & scruffy.

Good Luck

Don't just tie a windsor knot because everyone thinks it looks great. It does look great but only on a suitably cut collar. It's hard to tell from the photo but your collar looks to be quite a classic cut which doesn't provide enough room for a windsor knot to sit comfortably. It will look out of place and will be uncomfortable to wear if the collar is cut too narrow.

Try it out but I don't see it working. A half windsor will sit perfectly in that collar, will look neat and it will be comfortable to wear.
