Thunderstorms 2026

Not jealous of the heat but very jealous of missing these storms.
Hope something epic makes it this far north this year :p

Norway's in the path of a lot of this weather... close but not close enough to hear/see for you.

Santa's not going to be in Bermuda shorts, sipping a Hula Girl whilst delivering presents this year.. maybe in 5 years time if he can make it past the air conditioning installations..

Got heavy rain and thunder here (near Wincanton) not showing on the lighting maps for some reason.

EDIT: Most of it closer to Yeovil than where I am but some pretty impressive lighting though only about 1 a minute. Some nice cool air coming with it.

EDIT2: Some quite big flashes over the Castle Cary to Gillingham area - some of the lighting running across the sky almost horizon to horizon.

Fork lightning here at the moment, was out walking the dog and it looked very close so scurried home :cry: it's a proper storm now :cool:
 
We had an epic thunderstorm overnight just south of Edinburgh about 3am. It only lasted about 30 mins but I've never seen anything like it in this country. I loved it, the kids not so much...

I think it's measuring hotter than yesterday in the house but a draught through and in the sun not so hot..

It's meant to rain at around 2200.
 
Those storms up north look like American style supercells! Is anyone here under one? I would be on the lookout for large hail and tornadoes
 
Anyone local to Portsmouth - I've just pegged out 3 loads of washing on the line and had the car washed today. Apologies for the inevitable downpour.
