my mate had texted me saying Nottingham is very bad severe lightning now and the whole houses is shaking from a massive thunder!

I can smell the rain but no rain, no lightning, no thunder here in Telford.

I recommend unplugging routers from the telephone cable.
A thunderstorm here in 2010 fried the PSU, motherboard and router.

There's only been light rain and an unbearable increase in humidity here so far.
