Whoa, some mighty storm cloud passed over Stratford about 20 mins ago was intense but lasted only 5 minutes. Still see lightning but rain has calmed down a lot.

Been going on for over an hour in Oakham. Left my iPod nano resting on the window ledge recording video. Tried to get some photos with my dslr but failed.

Small world! I've been using TnL app to time between the lightning and thunder and calculate the distance. The shortest was 0.9 seconds which is 0.19 miles

Sky has been lighting up every 1 second or so in one direction for the past 30 mins - all too far away though. Along with a second storm that is heading towards me.

Rain has just started and looks like its about to get bigger

Absolutely hammering down here in Bristol. The thunderstorm passed over about 15 minutes ago and was so powerful that it was lighting up rooms and making the entire building vibrate at the same time.

Dog is going complete mad now as she's not used to the loud noises.

So I am sitting at work in a high rise hotel, top 2 floors are full, so I cannot go and see it properly

Best I can see are flashes on the CCTV, which sucks!

Dunno bout you in UK, currently in Chicago, yesterday after baking 38c the whole sky was going white every 2-3 secs...

When the bolts hit the earth it stayed for good 3 seconds my eyes watered when I stared at it, never seen lighting bolt stay for so long.

Sky went white and then thunder rumble less than a second later which lasted around 3 seconds! Made the automatic doors open (even though they are set to exit only)!
