Unbelievable storm here (Congleton) started at about 2:20am and lasted for an hour or more. The most impressive thunderstorm I've ever seen in the UK. Didn't see any individual forks, but the entire sky was lighting up, and the noise was incredible. Rather than the usual crackle of thunder, there were individual massive booms.
